December 2025 Empties for the Face, Body and Hair

Purchased & Press Samples (Affiliate Links)

During the busy month of December, I managed to finish up 5 full-size products, and would happily use all of them again. I finished up 2 face products, 2 body products and 1 hair product.
Y'OUR Cleanser (Available from Y'OUR Skincare and their Amazon Store): This cleanser is a very gentle and lightly lathering, and it thoroughly cleans without ever stripping my skin. It rinses clean and leaves my skin soft and comfortable. Additionally, it is fragrance-free, nourishing and leaves my skin lightly hydrated. It is gentle enough to use morning and night. Purchase Again? I am swimming in facial cleansers right now, but I would happily use this one again!

Dieux Skin Instant Angel Lipid Rich Facial Moisturizer ($45.00 for 50ml and $78.00 for 100ml. from Dieux and Sephora): This is a thoughtfully created cruelty-free and vegan moisturizer that is richly moisturizing. It is a peptide and ceramide-rich formulation that is barrier-supportive and immensely moisturizing for dehydrated skin and skin with a compromised barrier. It is rich and thick, and yet it melts into the skin quickly leaving behind an ethereal glow. It is fragrance-free, with no detectable aroma, and it makes the skin feel so soft, smooth and supple. If you have acne-prone skin, this cream will likely be too rich for you, and you might want to try Dieux Air Angel Gel Cream instead. However, if you have dry or dehydrated skin, then this lipid-rich moisturizer is truly heavenly! Purchase Again? I have too many open face creams to purchase another one right now, but I love this moisturizer and will happily use it again in the future!
Renpure Oat Milk & Ceramides Sensitive Skin Body Wash ($7.50 for 24 oz. and $14.99 for a 2-pack from iHerbAmazon): This is a lightly fragranced body wash that boasts a very satisfying lather and it leaves skin soft and moisturized, rather than dry and irritated. This body wash is perfect for anyone, but it is formulated especially for people with sensitive skin. It has become my very favorite body wash. It is emollient and delectable, and it rinses clean without any sort of residue. Purchase Again? Without any hesitation. This is currently my very favorite body wash!

TOA WATERS Liquid Bath Bomb in Lockwood Forest ($8.50- $10.99 for 50ml from TOA WATERSMacy'sTOA WATERS Amazon Store, and ETSY): is a pretty enchanted scent, a truly luxurious to experience in the bath. TOA WATERS describes the Lockwood Forest scent as "Earthy and natural. Infused with Oakmoss, Amber, Vanilla, Sage, and Lavender." It is calming, warm and creamy and utterly delectable. It is moisturizing, rather than drying and it feels utterly luxurious against the skin. Each bottle will give you two wonderful bubble baths, and they are perfect for the cold weather and after a long day on your feet. Purchase Again? I will happily use this again and again!
Herbatint Permanent Haircolor Gel in Light Golden Chestnut 5D ($17.49 from HerbatintAmazoniHerbWalmart):  For many years I used drugstore brand at-home hair dyes, but the last couple of times that I did I noticed that my scalp became dry and irritated. I decided to try something a little different, and I kept seeing Herbatint Permanent Hair Color Gel, and I decided to try it. This Italian brand, founded in 1970, is cruelty-free, vegan and it has a wide range of colors from which to choose. I have naturally curly dark brown hair that naturally lightens up in the summer, and therefore during the cooler months I tried their Light Chestnut 5N, and for the summer I tried their Light Golden Chestnut 5D, and both are stunning shades.

I mixed the hair color gel and the developer until it became a thick gel that was uniform in color. I carefully brushed it from roots to tips and then left it on for 40 minutes. This formula was tested on sensitive skin, and it definitely did not irritate, burn or tingle my scalp. I rinsed it out after 40 minutes and then applied their wonderful Royal Cream Conditioner– which comes with the hair color. This conditioner is lightweight and yet incredibly emollient and moisturizing. When I was done my hair was uniformly a gorgeous chestnut shade, but it was darker than on the box since my hair was quite dark to start with.

This formula neither dries out my scalp, nor my hair, and the color lasts for a few months before I need a touch up.

Herbatint encourages mixing shades to customize your hair color, and they also suggest that you can mix up just a small amount if you only need to do root-touch up. Whether you have any grey hair you seek to cover, or just roots that differ from the rest of your color, then just doing a root touch-up makes a lot of sense. I don't have much grey hair, but there are some strands here and there, and this does an excellent job of covering them. Purchase Again? I already have!
Overall Assessment: I was pleased to recycle 5 containers in the month of December, and would happily use all of these products again. What did you use up, toss out, give away or return in December? Any serious discoveries or duds to report?

Dieux Skin Forever Eye Mask Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Dieux Skin Forever Eye Mask is a reusable, and cruelty-free, eye mask that lasts up to a year. It contains no serum, and therefore you use your favorite gels, serums and creams to treat your delicate under eye area. The thin and lightweight masks are made from 100% medical-grade silicone, and are intended for use on all types of skin– unless you are allergic or sensitive to silicone. The eye mask is perfect for anyone looking to plump fine lines, reduce under eye puffiness and offer the skin ample hydration. If you love eye masking, then this is the perfect way to customize your experience using your favorite skincare products for the delicate eye area. They are very easy to use, and they stay in place without slipping once you adhere them to the skin.

According to Dieux Skin,

Same Forever Eye Mask, now with a new and improved tin. The last eye mask you'll ever need. Why? It lasts well beyond one use*. We all deserve deliverance from the plight of discarding sheet masks after every use. These masks allow you to treat yourself daily without accumulating unnecessary waste. Full sustainability analysis by Bluebird can be found here.

Helping you get more out of your products, the Forever Eye Mask is a thin, lightweight, and reusable eye patch that holds gels, serums, and creams close to the skin for maximum absorption. These masks encourage products to fully sink in, leaving skin prepped, hydrated, and looking heavenly. Forever Eye Mask in testing lasted 1 year before logo started to fade with daily use.

Good for:

  • Plumping fine lines
  • Boosting hydration
  • Customizable eye treatment
  • Helping catch makeup fallout
  • Allow for maximum absorption

Ingredients: 100% Medical Grade Silicone.

Directions: Simply use an existing eye cream or serum (our suggestions here), let the product get tacky, and then apply your mask on top. Wear the mask for 10-20 minutes, peel and reveal plump under eyes.

Care Instructions:

1. After using your Forever Eye Masks, take the time to wash them, as they are fully reusable.

2. Apply a small amount of hand soap onto eye masks.

3. Rub away any product on the eye masks using soap and water.

4. Pat the Forever Eye Masks dry with a towel.

5. Place back on the plastic insert inside of the Forever Eye Masks tin.

6. Reuse forever!*

Tips:

  • Keep the plastic insert. This extends the longevity of your tin.
  • Don't use too much eye product — a small amount goes a long way.
  • Let the product get tacky by waiting 10-20 seconds.
  • Placement matters! Check out our Instagram post on it here.
  • Always patch test products before use. The eye masks enhance skincare products, so be sure they don't give reactions prior to using the masks!

Precautions: Discontinue use if rash, itching, or irritation occurs. Choking hazard: Keep away from children under three and pets.

Overall Assessment: Such an ingenious and sustainable way to use eye masks!

Dieux Skin Instant Angel Lipid Rich Facial Moisturizer

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Dieux Skin is a brand that I was only just recently discovered, and not only am I impressed by their products that I have tried, but also by the mission of this brand.

About Dieux,

At Dieux we want you to understand exactly what you’re buying and how it works.
Our experiences as consumers and beauty industry professionals fueled us in creating a brand that is religious about results and explains how we get to where we are. Dieux’s products are price transparent, rooted in science, accountable and responsibly sourced. We're genuinely invested in doing better for everyone because we want to set a new standard in skincare.

To us, it’s simple; products should do what they say they are going to do. Safety and striving for sustainability aren’t selling points, they’re the baseline. We use packaging that works to do better environmentally, source vegan ingredients and finally formulate to European standards for stability. We don’t believe in miracles. We believe in rituals that produce results.

Our brand is founded by a clinical cosmetic chemist, a career brand builder and a multi-hyphenate creative. Ultimately, we want to see more accountability, honesty and nuance within the beauty industry. Our aim is to create comprehensive products that address key skin concerns. Our products are formulated to ultimately simplify routines so you can Dieux less.

Ingredients that follow the highest global regulatory guidelines in addition to clinically vetting each claim so products do what they say they’re going to do.

We believe in pricing everyone can understand. That's why we share the cost of formulas, packaging, labor, payment processing and shipping.

A stabilized and thoughtful selection of active ingredients means you only get the good stuff from the first to last drop.

That’s why we only test on humans, vet labor practices of sourcing and packaging, are vegan and cruelty-free.

Dieux Skin Instant Angel Lipid Rich Facial Moisturizer is a thoughtfully created cruelty-free and vegan moisturizer that is richly moisturizing.
According to Dieux,

Instant Angel is your skin barrier’s protector. Deeply moisturizing, this nourishing face cream supports and repairs skin while giving an ethereal glow.

Using a blend of phytosterols, free fatty acids, palmitoyl hexapeptide-12, dipalmityl hydroxyproline, meadowestolide, ceramide NG, glycerin, urea, squalane and sodium PCA, Instant Angel gives lasting hydration while reinforcing the skin’s barrier leaving it feeling strong, smooth and firm.

The result is an unfragranced, rich moisturizer that feels like silk without leaving the tell-tale *residue* of a richer cream

$1 of every sale of Instant Angel goes to an organization fighting for reproductive justice.

Note: If you have acne-prone skin, this is a richer product therefore has risks. While it tested as non-comedogenic, always patch test as you may have a reaction. This cream is good for: dehydrated skin and a compromised barrier.

Directions: Gently massage a quarter sized dollop of Instant Angel onto your face and neck. This cream should be used after cleansing and application of serums and toners. If tolerated, skin can be slightly damp prior to application. If used during the day, always follow with SPF.
