Cambio Roasters Coffee K-Cup Coffee Pods Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

I was recently introduced to Cambio Roasters Coffee Pods, and this eco-friendly coffee company has created the first ever aluminum coffee pods for Keurig coffeemakers. Cambio Roasters wants to usher in a new way of brewing coffee that doesn't include dumping single-use plastic pods into the landfill.

About Cambio Roasters,

Cambio Roasters is redefining the single-serve coffee market with innovations driven by sustainability, quality, and social impact. Led by CEO Kevin Hartley, formerly of Keurig Green Mountain®, the company focuses on delivering the finest organic coffees in the world’s most recyclable pods. Cambio Roasters’ mission is to transform the iconic coffee pod for the next 25 years, blending third-wave coffee culture with a positive environmental and social impact, while also elevating the entire coffee consuming experience. Through focused farm-to-pod sourcing, community engagement, and product excellence, Cambio Roasters invites coffee enthusiasts to enjoy a richer, more meaningful coffee experience while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Cambio Roasters, led by former Keurig® Chief Innovation Officer Kevin Hartley, is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking aluminum coffee pods. This innovative shift from plastic to aluminum represents a significant advancement in sustainability and coffee quality. The aluminum coffee pod addresses the environmental crisis caused by the 40 million plastic coffee pods that end up in landfills and oceans every day, offering a more eco-friendly and high-quality alternative.

When commenting on the urgency of such a huge transition, Hartley commented, 'There's no sense in compromising the quality of the world's best organic coffees, expertly roasted and curated, by placing them in a plastic vessel that's porous. Our landfills are growing at an alarming rate, and the timing is perfect to introduce recyclable aluminum pods. That's why Cambio is committed to transitioning away from single-use plastics and towards sustainable alternatives.'

Plastic coffee pods are notoriously problematic for the environment, with only 3% of them being successfully recycled into new products. In contrast, aluminum is infinitely recyclable and retains over 60% of the aluminum ever produced in circulation. This makes aluminum a superior choice for both sustainability and recycling efficiency.
Moreover, traditional plastic pods are inadequate at preserving coffee freshness due to their porous nature. Aluminum pods, however, provide a nearly perfect oxygen barrier, ensuring the coffee maintains its intended freshness and flavor from roast to brew. This innovation not only enhances the coffee-drinking experience but also aligns with Cambio Roasters’ commitment to quality and sustainability.

Along with this innovation, Cambio only features 100% organic coffees carefully selected from small farms around the world. And, as always, Cambio donates 20% of its profits to Food 4 Farmers, who work closely with coffee-farming families struggling with food insecurity often for more than 6 months per year. According to Hartley, 'This innovation is so exciting because it’s better for coffee, better for the world, and better for you. We hope this helps you fall in love with your Keurig® all over again.' In addition, Cambio announced its new partnership with 4Ocean, founded by two surfers with a mission to eradicate plastic from the world’s oceans.
Cambio Roasters Dark Roast Special Dark ($12.00 for 10 pods and $40.00 for 60 pods from Cambio Roasters and their Amazon Store): This dark roast, which is described as the embodiment bold, dried fruit, dark chocolate, is a rich and flavorful blend of beans (60% Peru, 24% Colombia and 15% Sumatra) that is at once subtle and impactful. One is really able to taste the subtlety of the individual elements from each of the beans while enjoying a rich cup of dark roasted coffee. It's so flavorful, in fact, that it is hard to believe that it is from a pod!

According to Cambio Roasters,

Cambio Roasters asserts that evokes the flavors of milk chocolate, brown sugar and toasted nuts, and I think that is an apt description. It is delicious, flavorful and a delight to savor.

Steeped Coffee Review

Press Sample (Unaffiliated Links)

If you are a coffee drinker, like me, then I have a very interesting coffee brand to share with you. Steeped Coffee, from Santa Cruz, California, is an innovative brand that makes coffee in single serve bags that you brew the same way as tea. They ethically source their coffee beans, and their practices exceed the Fair Trade minimums.

At home I use a French Press, but at work I do not. For a while I have been contemplating putting a coffee pot in my office, but I would still have to walk over to the department office for water and to dispose of the coffee grounds there as well. My other option is to use our main office coffeemaker, but it's inefficient for just one person to use. Therefore, when Steeped Coffee sent me this package I knew that it would be perfect to take to work. I can store the coffee in my desk and simply get hot water from the main office whenever the spirit moves me.

Features:
- 100% Specialty Coffee: No solubles, crystals, or freeze-drying needed
- No Machine: single serve convenience
- Ultrasonically Sealed: no glue or staples
- Precision Ground Coffee: consistent water-cooled grinding to the micron
- Full Immersion Filter
- Nitro Sealed for Freshness
- Just Add Water
They have five coffees from which to choose, and they are roasted in small batches. Perhaps the most important questions is whether or not their coffees taste good, and I definitely think that they do.

According to Steeped Coffee,

Steeped Coffee bags are filled with fresh, direct trade coffee that's roasted locally in small batches and precision ground to the micron. From Decaf to French roast, we have a blend for you.

We believe that coffee is an experience that starts long before it is steeped in your cup. A quality cup of coffee is not just enjoyable to our taste buds, but is also dependent on the attention to detail from each farmer, the direct trade relationships built to support the communities at origin, and craftsmanship carried through our roasting. Every detail matters and our direct trade coffee allows us to ethically source each bean through growing relationships and buying practices that far exceed Fair Trade minimums. Steeped Coffee invites you to become part of a community that you can be proud of—a movement that cares for each page throughout its story.

We all have a role to play when it comes to the world we live in. At Steeped Coffee we hold these responsibilities with the utmost care, so you don't have to. Our Guilt Free Packaging takes every possible step to ensure that your sacred coffee rituals go unnoticed by the next generation. Each coffee bag is made of a non-GMO food grade biodegradable material that you can drop in your garden or toss in your green bin. Steeped Coffee boxes are made of recycled material that is fully recyclable. And each element of our packaging is utilizing every know innovation that we know about, while also preserving our coffee's quality and freshness. We'll keep doing our best, so by all means leave just your actual footprints wherever your journey takes you.
