Milo is Coming Home Tonight!

Milo is coming home tonight! We spoke to the vet yesterday and Milo is off of oxygen and he was transitioned from IV to oral antibiotics. The vet wanted to keep him one more night for close observation to ensure that Milo was stable enough to come home today. Therefore, notwithstanding an unforeseen medical setback he will be back home today. He will be on antibiotics for a while longer, but his prognosis for a full recovery is quite good. Thank you again for your outpouring of well-wishes and Milo love– I appreciate it more than you can imagine! xo,Helen

Feline Friday: The Life of Zeus at the Domestic Mount Olympus

There is no question that Zeus has a large fan-base, and why wouldn't he?!  I receive so many email requests for Zeus posts, and am routinely told that Zeus posts are the perfect way to start (or end) the day,

Zeus is a delightfully demented character who is remarkably smart, and intensely idiosyncratic in many of his tendencies. When observing him, one can readily see the wheels turning as he thinks about what he wants to do. Therefore, on the one hand, he is contemplative and very much a cat prone to premeditated acts. However, he is also an errant male inclined toward impetuous acts, and erratic behavior.  He can effortlessly leap seven feet, unassisted, and often runs full speed ahead and elegantly changes direction midway by banking off of a wall and gliding through the air. He is remarkable. 

Like most cats, he often seeks high perches for naps, and is perpetually seeking his Mount Olympus from which to survey his territory, and from which to reign supreme.

There are those times, however, that he naps in more expected places– like a couch, chair or table, but when I happened upon him sleeping on a platter on the dining room table I got such a hearty laugh.

Of course that particular laugh-out-loud moment caused him to wake up, but it was definitely worth it (for me, at least) since these pictures were the result.
