It is often so sad to see the end of an era, and that is certainly how I feel about the announcement that after 26 years MakeupAlley is shutting down its website. It was a wonderful place where you could go to join a community of beauty enthusiasts around the globe. You would find honest product assessments from so many people around the globe, and the community was a wonderful space that looked and felt quite different than the internet all these years later. Below you will find the statement released by MakeupAlley.

First and foremost, thank you for being part of the MakeupAlley family. Your support and contributions mean the world to us.
It is with great sadness that we announce MakeupAlley will be closing permanently on September 27, 2025 EDT.
Since our launch in 1999, thousands of you from around the world have turned MakeupAlley into more than just an information platform — you’ve made it a dependable, welcoming community. Thank you for making MakeupAlley a vibrant, supportive space for beauty enthusiasts worldwide. Your voices, stories, and connections have shaped this community in ways we will always treasure, and we are deeply grateful for your passion and loyalty over the years.
We understand this news may be disappointing, and we offer our heartfelt apologies for any sadness or inconvenience it may cause. Please rest assured that until the closure date, all site features will remain fully available for all members to enjoy as usual.
In accordance with our commitment to protecting your privacy, all personal information registered on MakeupAlley will be permanently deleted by October 7, 2025 EDT, and will not be used for any other purposes after the site’s closure.
