Anua Niacinimide 10% Dark Spot Correcting Serum Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Anua Niacinimide 10% Dark Spot Correcting Serum is an unscented K Beauty brightening serum that is formulated to fade dark spots that occur from sun damage and acne scarring to the skin. It is a lightweight gel that melts into the skin and it hydrates, nourishes and pampers the skin while it works to fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation. The Hyaluronic Acid retains hydration while the oils, such as Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, moisturize the skin. I have a couple of sun spots on my face from overexposure to the sun, and after weeks of daily use, I am starting to see a tiny bit of fading. I look forward to seeing what those spots will look like by the time that I finish this bottle.

The beautiful "pink colored vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is a fermented plant-derived ingredient, and the color may be lost if exposed to light."

According to Anua,

A dark spot correcting serum fades dark spots and post-acne scars. Powerful trio of active ingredients - Niacinamide, Tranexamic Acid, and Arbutin - targets post-acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun spots. Containing 10% Niacinamide (Vitamin B), it targets dull skin, uneven skin tone, and enlarged pores. The non-greasy, watery, and lightweight texture is easily absorbed and makes a perfect addition to your skincare regimen.

Features:
  • Containing 10% Niacinamide, 4% Tranexamic Acid and 2% Arbutin, a powerful trio of ingredients to target dull skin, and enlarged pores.
  • Infused with Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid to protect damaged skin barrier, soothe and hydrate the skin. Gentle enough to be used daily, morning and night.
  • Non-Greasy watery lightweight texture, easy to absorb and perfect addition to your skincare regimen.
  • Made for all types of skin, Fragrance Free, Cruelty-Free.
Directions: Apply a few drops to affected areas and gradually increase the usage period accordingly. Use in the morning and night before oils and moisturizers. Note the caution on the label above.

Overall Assessment: I am delighted by the modest price tag, and so far this serum is worthy of continued use. If you have sun spots (hyperpigmentation from sun damage), you should consult with your doctor to determine whether those spots are pre-cancerous or cancerous lesions before you add any sort of topical cosmetic treatment to them. I always check with my doctor first, and I don't ever assume that dark spots are nothing to be concerned about.

  1. Hi, Lola - I've been using Versed but it's so gradual that I think Anua is worth giving a try, especially because of its natural ingredients and moderate price tag. But I must admit that whatever I use, I've got to be more conscientious about applying it every day! Thanks for sharing this - Angie, www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    1. Hi Angie, This one is definitely worth trying– especially since it is 10% Niacinamide and it's so affordable. It is worth trying to see if you prefer it to Versed!

  2. Hmmm, 10% Niacinamide sounds promising. I think my niacinamide booster from Paula's Choice is 5%. I will think about adding this serum to my collection to see if it will help fade my sun damage. Love the red color, and the price is right!
