Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation Review

Purchased (Affiliate Links)

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Beautiful Skin Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid was one of those purchases that I didn't overthink, but instead I immediately jumped on it sight unseen, and without reading a single review. I am a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury, and a Hyaluronic Acid-based medium coverage foundation with a glow sounded perfect to me. I took a look at the 30 shade descriptions and stock swatches, and decided that 3 Cool (fair with cool pink undertones) would be a perfect match for me, and it definitely is.

This is a hydrating foundation that offers medium buildable coverage, and the natural lit from within glow is beautiful and not in the least bit overdone. In addition to hydrating, the Hyaluronic Acid plumps fine lines and smoothes the skin. It allows skin to show through, but it does cover redness, hyperpigmentation and it beautifully blurs imperfections. I prefer light coverage and a my-skin-but-better look, and this foundation delivers, but it is buildable without looking cakey, unnatural or glittery, if you prefer more coverage.

I have normal/combination skin, and the hydration feels comfortable without feeling greasy or rich. This formula should work for most skin types including dry and dehydrated skin. The finish is gorgeous, and is almost like a Zoom filter when you see your skin online!

If you prefer matte finishes in your foundations, then you may not like this finish since it is decidedly glowy and luminous. Think about the way in which face oils can give you a glow, and then imagine the embodiment of that in a foundation, and la voilà, Charlotte created just that!

Charlotte Tilbury claims that this foundation wears for a full 16 hours, but I have not tested this claim because I don't ever wear makeup that long. I will say, however, that it lasted 10 hours without transfer– even when wearing a mask.
This foundation is formulated with the following skincare ingredients

Hyaluronic Acid floods the skin with moisture and revitalizes the skin’s outer, visible layers.
Bix’Activ™ helps to decrease the appearance of oiliness and visibly reduce the look of shine and pores. Rose Complex targets all signs of stress in the skin including dullness, dryness, pigmentation and dark circles for skin that looks brighter, smoother, hydrated and more youthful. Hyalurosmooth™ targets uneven texture, dryness and dullness, and locks in moisture for a fresher, plumper, smoother and even looking skin tone. Coconut Extract improves skin’s ability to hold water by HELPING strengthen the skin barrier over time for plumper, younger looking skin. C.T. Defence prevents pollutant particles from penetrating the skin and strengthens the skin barrier, to improve skin quality over time for more healthy-looking skin.

  1. Oh, this foundation sounds lovely! I think 3 Cool Fair with Pink Undertones would be my shade as well. Next time I go to Sephora, I will ask for a sample to try out to see if that is enough coverage for me

    1. It really is a lovely hydrating foundation, Allison! It is definitely an impulse buy that was a worthy gamble! Yes, I think that 3 Cool would be a perfect shade for you as well! It is buildable, and therefore I think that you would likely be able to achieve your desired coverage! It definitely is worth asking for a sample to try!

  2. I had this in my shopping cart but I don't want medium coverage so I took it out. I'll have to see if my sister can make me a sample the next time she works at the CT counter. I do love their Wonder Cream foundation.

    1. It is definitely buildable, Marcia– but it would be great if your sister could get you a sample to try before you commit to a whole tube!
