I am a big fan of body scrubs and exfoliating body washes that invigorate the skin and the senses. However, I like to have luxury and drugstore items from which to choose, and here are my top two picks that are definitely worthy of your consideration!

Malin+Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub ($35.00 for 7.5 oz. from Malin+GoetzSpace NK,  Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's): This is one of my all-time favorite body scrubs for so many reasons! Among them is the fact that it boasts a foaming gel formula that is gentle and non-stripping, and yet it effectively removes dead skin cells, and reveals silky soft and ultra smooth skin. It also has no greasy residue that requires additional washing, and the peppermint aroma is seriously exhilarating without being overdone. This is a truly amazing body scrub, and I highly recommend it! If you are willing to splurge, this should be at the top of your list!

According to Malin+Goetz,

Our foaming gel scrub synthesizes peppermint with amino acid-based, hydrating exfoliation.  Gently and effectively purifies and pH balances all skin types. Mixing bamboo and pumice helps shed dead skin, stimulate cell renewal, and soothe without irritation, drying, or stripping. Rinses free of residue for smooth, even skin. Natural color. Easily integrated into daily maintenance and prevention regimen.
Ingredients: Aqua|Water|Eau, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Pumice, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamidopropylamine Oxide, Acrylates Copolymer, Fragrance (Parfum), Di-PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Salicylic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzethonium Chloride, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Alanine, Arginine, Betaine, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Lysine, Proline, Serine, Sodium PCA, Sorbitol, Threonine, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol.
Effectively clean and exfoliate your skin with Suave Essentials Sea Salt & Eucalyptus Exfoliating Body Wash ($1.88- $2.39 for 15 oz. from Target and Walmart): This exfoliating body wash gently removes dead skin cells revealing soft and smooth skin– without drying or stripping! The fresh scent of the sea salt and eucalyptus is invigorating, uplifting, and energizing. It forms a nice creamy lather that is punctuated by the exfoliating sea salt particles– that is just so satisfying to use! If you want an effective and affordable exfoliating body wash, you simply can't go wrong with this gem!

According to Suave,

The invigorating scent will revive your senses, while the sea salt crystals will gently massage away surface dirt, dead skin cells and bacteria within your pores. This sea salt body wash is ideal for oily skin or dry skin because it provides a light scrub without drying your skin. Plus, this paraben- and phthalates-free formula won't leave a soapy residue on your smooth skin. Certified "Cruelty Free" by PETA, this body wash for women does double duty. Enjoy a fragrant deep clean experience as you scrub away dirt and bacteria with a built-in sea salt body polish. This is a natural way to hydrate dry skin and clear up oily skin or clogged pores. With no parabens or phthalates, this hydrating body wash and exfoliating soap in one is gentle enough to use daily.

  1. It's nice to see a choice at both ends of the price spectrum. the Malin & Goetz scent sounds more my style but the price of the Suave is more my speed.

  3. Unfortunately my skin can’t handle peppermint though I am dying to try some body care products from Malin+Goetz. Suave (Unilever) was my client a while back. I used to conduct focus groups for the brand. They did all things scented so very well

    1. The peppermint in the Malin+Goetz scrub definitely wouldn't agree with you, Allison, but I think that you would love the Suave Exfoliating Body Wash. It is so cool that they were one of your clients!
