MyChelle Remarkable Retinal Serum Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

MyChelle Remarkable Retinal Serum is an advanced anti-aging serum that utilizes Retinal (Retinaldehyde), a very potent form of Vitamin A, in conjunction with Ceramide 3 and plant-based stem cells to effectively promote skin-cell turnover, diminish the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation and blemishes. Furthermore, it brightens skin and leaves it more even, smooth and luminous. I have used a lot of retinols over the years, and this is more gentle and non-irritating without sacrificing efficacy. I can use it every night without any burning, itching or peeling. If your skin is too sensitive for Retin-A, then this is a brilliant alternative.

I should note that it has a very lightweight gel-like consistency, and a light floral/herbal aroma that is neither cloying nor long-lasting. It is as pleasant to use as it is effective.
According to MyChelle Dermaceuticals,

Advanced serum with exclusive and patented IconicA® (Retinal)—the most potent form of Vitamin A—plus Ceramide 3 and Orange Plant Stem Cells to promote healthy skin renewal, help diminish skin discoloration (dark spots and blemishes), and minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

    1. Hi Jen, Retinal (Retinaldehyde) is a potent form of Vitamin. It is one of many forms of Vitamin A. It is also said that Retinal works faster than Retinol.

  3. I wonder if I could use this? My skin is so sensitive that I've given up on using retinol products in general.

    1. My skin is pretty sensitive, and I haven't had any problems with it, but you might want to sort test it (and perhaps try to get a sample) before committing to using it on your face.

  4. When a lot of my friends were using Retin A I know it was too strong for my skin. This would be a better alternative for me since I am now comfortable using retinol skincare. And MyChelle is always a great brand.

    1. It really depends upon the percentage used, and whether it is OTC or by prescription. It is definitely worth checking out, but I would recommend spot-testing to see if your skin is reactive. That said, my skin can be sensitive, and I have had no issues with this. I agree that MyChelle is a really great brand.

    1. This is definitely worth trying. My skin can be sensitive, and this oe definitely doesn't bother me at all. However, you should spot test before trying it if your sin is sensitive to Retin A. Retinal is still derived from Vitamin A, but it is a bit different from Retinol.

  7. I've liked a lot of MyChelle products and from your review this would probably make the like list as well. I don't use a lot of retinal in my routine yet and this would be a great product to start introducing it in.

    1. Hi John, I could not find that information in the literature. You might reach out directly to the company to see if they can tell you the percentage. Happy holidays!

    2. It is .05% easily found online which I appreciate as the endless false marketing 2.5 and etc type "retinol" serums on the market constantly frol every Amazon to even high end brand will never state the true pure retinol. Mychelle is an amazing formula and of the very few "retinal" serums on the market as these formulas are very expensive to develop so few brands do it. I can confirm after using for many months now retinal is a game changer in being not only more potent than retinol serums yes per less conversion required but with half the irritation if even any if any especially if you are past the beginner stage and dont just jump into higher strength retinal/retinol serums for your first product. I comically found Mychelle's retinal by accident as had known of this brand for the last decade but didnt realize they had this serum. Another quality brand on the market, Maelove, came out with an almost identical quality formula of retinal in late 2020 and immediately sold out as great formula and not much else on market comparable. When searching for anything remotely similar available I stumbled upon many recommending Mychelle. Now I dont know if I even will be tempted to try Maelove's when back in stock. It is .11% so bit higher than Mychelle's however. While I prefer the flawless pump bottle Mychelle has the serum is slightly too hydrating for my combo but oily blemish prone skin and maybe more suited for dry skin types. It absorbs just fine but for all those who like light treatment serums as I do so I can follow with my not active nourishing night cream I dont have that option with this per it being so hydrating so this has to double as my moisturizer every other night I use it I dont want to wake up with a greasy face. Not a deal breaker but per that Maelove's more fluid just as yellow dropper formula is tempting me ofcourse lol.

    3. Hi Unknown, I believe that the .05% refers to the Renew Remarkable Retinal™ Serum in the pink packaging, which appears to be different from this product that I reviewed in June 2019
