SHU UEMURA ART OF HAIR PICKS

I have long been obsessed with Shu Uemura Art of Hair products because they are ultra-luxe, they boast serious efficacy and the textures are sublime. I have used their products for many years, and it is one of the best luxury brands in which I regularly luxuriate! Here are a few cleansing, treatment and styling products that I wanted to share with you– that are definitely worthy of your consideration.
Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo Gentle Radiance Cleanser ($57.00 for 13.4 oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair): This shampoo is so gentle and non-stripping that my hair is manageable before I even condition it.  It deeply and gently cleanses the hair and scalp, and it hydrates without overdoing it. Hair is never left greasy or feeling dirty, but instead feels nourished, moisturized, volumized, balanced and soothed. Furthermore, my hair is left soft, supple and shiny when I use this shampoo.

According to Shu Uemura,

Cleansing oil shampoo formulated with delicate ingredients that leave the hair balanced--with both moisture and volume--without stripping the scalp of its natural oils. Directions: Apply a quarter-size amount of the Cleansing Oil Shampoo to wet hair. Massage into scalp using fingers and palms. Rinse thoroughly. For oilier scalps, repeat steps 1-3.
Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo Moisture Balancing Cleanser ($57.00 for 13.4 oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair and Barneys New York): This shampoo is made for dry scalp and hair, but it will do wonders for all types of hair. It is so gentle and non-stripping that my hair is manageable before I even condition it. It deeply and gently cleanses the hair and scalp, and it hydrates without overdoing it. Hair is never left greasy or feeling dirty, but instead feels nourished, moisturized and soothed. Furthermore, my hair is left soft, supple and shiny when I use this shampoo. It is a perfect selection for people with dry hair and scalp– which makes it the perfect choice for my dry, curly hair.

Shu Uemura  Colour Lustre Dry Cleaner ($36.00 for oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair, Barneys New York and Adore Beauty): This dry shampoo gently cleanses and moisturizes, and the translucent micro-powders never leave behind any sort of residue or texture in the scalp and in the hair. If you love dry shampoos, then you really need to try this one out.

2-in-1 Dry shampoo that gently cleanses by absorbing oils and impurities at the roots while moisturizing dry lengths and ends. Unlike other dry shampoos, the formula has translucent micro-fine powders that absorb oil without leaving any residue or unwanted texture behind.

Directions: 1. Create a part on dry hair.  2. Shake well before use. 3. Spray dry shampoo 8-10 inches from roots. Repeat gesture on multiple sections as desired. 4. Brush or use fingers to distribute product evenly.
Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Taming Overnight Serum ($69.00 for 3.3 oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair and Adore Beauty): This overnight treatment serum nourishes hair and makes it infinitely more manageable. It effectively fights frizz, soothes and smoothes hair and gives it  a lovely shine. It has an intoxicatingly beautiful fruity floral scent that is very comforting to fall asleep to.

Directions: Apply on dry or damp lengths and ends before bedtime. Spread a pump into hands and distribute the product evenly on tips. Use of comb to spread the product evenly is ideal. Also, can be used in the morning to nourish fine hair.

It also protects the hair from blow drying and works wonders on fine to medium coarse hair.

Shu Uemura Master Wax High Control Workable Cream ($39.00 for 2.6 oz. from Shu Uemura The Art of Hair and Barneys New York): If you are seeing great styling product for slicked back looks, high hold styles and textured blow-outs, then Master Wax is a perfect choice. It is neither greasy, nor flaky and it does not make the hair feel or look stiff and unnatural.

Directions: 1. Start by putting a small amount of master wax between your palms. 2. Distribute into damp or dry hair, raking through with fingers from root to tip.
Overall Assessment: I simply cannot say enough good things about these products! If you have never tried Shu Uemura, I highly recommend checking out their products– they really are that wonderful!

    1. That's a tough question, but probably the the Moisture Balancing Cleanser– it is so gentle and effective for my curly hair!

  3. How fragranced do you find the line? I remember smelling one product that was strong so I was always worried about trying it.

    1. I don't find any of them overpowering, but I think that you would need to sniff/test the products that you were interested in to see whether the scent was too much for you, or if any of their scents lingered in your hair longer than you would like. It's tough with haircare products since some hair retains fragrances longer than others.

  4. The only hair care I've tried from Shu Uemura is a dry shampoo, these additions sound wonderful!
