Makeup Wars Top Pick Drugstore Foundation: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation #MakeupWars

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

When the Makeup Wars Team decided to have its members select their favorite drugstore foundations and concealers, I didn't had to think long about it. While I don't currently have any drugstore concealers, at least that I can find in my stash, there is but one drugstore foundation that has truly stolen my heart, and that is the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation in Light Ivory. I fell madly in love with its formula from my first application, and my love for it remains just as strong today!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation in Light Ivory: The reason that this remains my favorite drugstore foundation is because it offers light to medium coverage with a very natural finish. My skin looks and feels hydrated, smooth and glowing. Rimmel claims that it is "party-proof, transfer-proof and leaves you with flawless looking skin around the clock" and lasts up to 25 hours, and I agree with all of these claims, except that I can't verify the 25 hour wear-time because of my unwillingness to sleep in my makeup.

Lasting Finish 25 Hour Full Coverage, our first long wear foundation with comfort serum for feel good, flawless skin that stays put morning to night. Stay-true makeup applies smoothly and evenly, concealing dark circles and imperfections. Leaves skin looking flawless all day long. Transfer resistant for up to 25 hours. New skin-friendly comfort serum for instant hydration, lightweight and extra comfortable wear all day. Vitamin E helps provide additional skin barrier from free radicals.

Available Shades: Light Ivory (Shown), Classic Ivory, Soft Beige, Classic Beige, True Beige and Sand.

  5. I did like this foundation a lot, but the lightest shade at my Ulta was still too dark for me. I just ordered the NYX Pro White foundation mixer though, so hopefully I can get use out of the foundations I have that are too dark.

    1. It's too bad that the lightest shade is too dark, hopefully the NYX Pro White Foundation allows you to make the perfect match! The formula is so good, that it would be great if you could create the perfect shade!

  10. I don't mind using drugstore makeup if it works! I appreciate your posting about affordable makeup. I'll have to check out the shade range the next time I do a drugstore run. I'd rather save my money for skincare. I used to only use powder foundation when I was younger. But as I've aged, liquid is so much more forgiving! I just need to find ones that work for oily skin. OK, I'm done rambling. lol

    1. I agree with you, Lynne! I actually find it really refreshing that I can depend on brands like Rimmel and Milani to provide me with high quality makeup at drugstore prices. I know what you mean by saving your money for skincare– while I do splurge on luxury makeup, I splurge far more on luxury skincare! I think that liquid foundations tend to be far more forgiving on the skin as well, and I prefer its texture! I have normal/combination skin, and this one has definitely worked well for my skin. My t-zone is a little oily, and this lasts quite well on me.

  12. I do love this foundation though even the Light Ivory is darker than I'm comfortable with. I mix it with a little white foundation (Manic Panic) and then it's wonderful.
