NEW Ouidad Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Curl Treatment | Review and Giveaway! #Ouidad #Giveaway

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

If you have wavy, curly or kinky hair, or any variation in-between, then you have probably sought refuge in a high quality hair oil to tame and nourish those unruly tresses. Thankfully, Ouidad has devoted itself to caring for curly hair, and their new Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Curl Treatment is a tremendously effective multipurpose treatment oil that can be used as a rinse out conditioner or as a  leave-in.

Given that I have long, naturally curly hair, I know a thing about trying to tame frizz, moisturize my hair and scalp, and trying to find products that make my hair soft and manageable. This may seem like an easy task, but curly hair tends to be dry and more tricky to care for.

My preferred method of use is to use this as a leave-in on damp or dry hair. I simply warm a couple of drop between my palms and work it through my hair. It leaves my hair soft, manageable, separates and defines my curls into pretty ringlets, it fights frizz and leaves my hair with a lovely shine. It has a creamy, warm slightly sweet aroma that is very pleasant, but it does fade away soon upon application, and therefore will not interfere with any fragrances that you may wear.
According to Ouidad,

Liquid gold elixir leaves all types of curls soft, manageable and illuminated with healthy shine. Infused with oil from the mongongo nut and blended with coconut, American palm seed oil, and broccoli seed oil, this fast absorbing liquid gold elixir delivers intense hydration to all curl types as it nourishes, restores natural luster, and protects against damage from heat styling and UV rays. Curls are soft, manageable, frizz-free, and illuminated with healthy shine.

Who does this work for:

Loose Curls
  • Seals split ends.
  • Lightweight heat protectant.
  • Moisturizing UV shield.
Classic Curls:
  • Fights frizz and flyaways
  • Lightweight heat protectant
  • Moisturizing UV shield
Tight Curls:
  • Enhances shine and smooths the cuticle
  • Revives the curl pattern
  • Breaks up curls and/or sets
Kinky Curls:
  • Protects and prevents damage
  • Breaks up curl sets
  • Locks in moisture (LOC method)
Directions:
As a Conditioner: Pour a quarter size amount of treatment into hand and add a drop of water. Work into wet hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse and style as usual.

As a Leave-in: Use fingertips to moisturize scalp and hydrate wet or dry hair. As a Finisher: Warm a few drops between palms, concentrating on ends for frizz control and shine. Perfect for separating tight and kinky curls.

  1. Sounds like a lovely oil for curly haired gals! My hair does better when I use oil before I shampoo, leaving it on for at least 30 minutes and even better when I leave it on longer.

  10. This product sounds like a pretty good oil to use to seal in moisture. My hair is very curly, not quite kinky and it always benefits from a light oil to seal in as my last step or as a lubricant when straight

  33. There are already several curly-haired lovelies I have in mind to gift this to if I win. While I like the idea of a rinse-out conditioner, I would use it as a leave-in - it costs a bit much for me to rinse away! My sister is always looking for products that actually work on her daughter's long, curly but fine hair. This might be it!
