I absolutely love discovering nourishing and hydrating haircare products, and for my curly hair these attributes are essential. When I first began using Madam C.J. This gentle cleanser washes away impurities and residue so nothing stands in the way of silky-smooth styling. Infused with moisture to pamper dry, heat-styled hair, it leaves hair soft and shiny. Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Smoothing Brassica Seed & Shea Oils Silkening Conditioner ($24.00 for 12 oz. from Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture and Sephora): This is one of those fantastic conditioners that hydrates, softens and smooths even the most unruly curly hair like mine. In fact, my hair is can be brushed out without incident after I have used this condition, and without the aid of a detangler. More often than not, I tend to let my hair dry naturally, but this conditioner protects hair from heated styling tools– which is essential for me when I opt to blow dry my hair.

According to Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture,

Uncontrolled high heat and tension can make hair dry and difficult to control. Instantly soften and smooth with this restorative conditioner, so hair is left easy to manage. Dual encapsulation technology ensures a smooth finish as tiny microspheres deliver fast-absorbing brassica seed oil, a natural alternative to silicone, and deep conditioning shea oil exactly where hair needs it most. Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Curl Enhancing Jamaican Black Castor & Murmuru Oils Ultra Moisturizing Detangler ($24.00 for 12 oz. from Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture and Sephora): I love to use moisturizing hair detanglers because curly hair really requires added pampering since it has the propensity to tangle and knot– which can lead to excessive damage. For me, a good detangler should also add needed moisture, defrizz hair and make it more manageable, and that is precisely what Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Ultra Moisturizing Detangler does.

According to Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture,

The process of detangling is one of the most important aspects of curly, coily hair care. Instantly soften and add slip that helps unravel knots and snags for easy styling with this moisturizing detangler. Dual encapsulation technology ensures a healthy-looking, hydrated finish, as tiny microspheres deliver nourishing Jamaican black castor and moisture-sealing murumuru oils right where hair needs it most. Time-release actives help maintain moisture and extend your curly or coily style.

Select Ingredients and Attributes:
  • Jamaican Black Castor Oil: Contains a unique composition of ultra-moisturizing, restorative omega 9s.
  • Murumuru Oil: A super emollient that coats and seals in moisture while restoring sheen.
  • Sunflower Seed Oil: Adds moisture and shine without being heavy or greasy.
  • Shea Oil: A natural deep conditioner for hair.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin (Vegetable), Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-7, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*+, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Collagen PG-Propyl Methylsilanediol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Urtica Dioica Leaf Extract, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Oil), Coco-Glucoside, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Algin, Chitosan, Gellan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend).

Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Scent and Shine Coconut Oil ($26.00 for 1.7 oz. from Madam C.J. Walker and Sephora): This is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a high quality hair oil that does not contain silicone, and I count myself among the people who prefer silicone-free hair oils that nourish the hair rather than cause a chemical build-up. This lightweight and fast absorbing oil nourishes the hair and leaves it soft, supple and shiny. It helps to define curls without weighing them down, and it has a delectable warm coconut and vanilla scent.

According to Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture,

Deeply nourish and protect curls with this fast-absorbing, lightweight treatment oil. Subtly scented with a medley of woods, coconut, and sweet vanilla notes to refresh hair in between washings, it helps maintain curl definition and healthy-looking shine.

Pure oil extracted from premium coconuts stays liquid at all temperatures for easy application. Mid-chain fatty acids penetrate strands to deeply nourish and support hair. Coconut oil has a naturally high affinity for hair protein so it helps fortify the building blocks of hair. As it delivers pure goodness, subtle fragrance covers date-to-date odors and refreshes waves and curls. A little goes a long way.

Key Ingredient Attributes:

Coconut Oil: Adds luster, shine, and softness to the hair; helps prevent hair breakage and split ends.

Ingredients: Capric/Caprylic Triglycerides (Coconut Oil), Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend).

Overall Assessment: I love this line, and definitely want to further investigate their other products. They make haircare products for all types of hair, but if you have unruly, curly hair you will be delighted by how well this line understands the needs of your kinky, curly hair! This is an excellent line that is well worth your consideration.

  9. I have that hair oil and it is so awesome. I need to try the detangler next... because my hair gets so tangled so fast... I have thin hair even if it looks thick, so it really knots up quickly
