Given that I have naturally curly hair, I seek out conditioners and hair masks that infuse my tresses with lots of added moisture, but many have failed to drench my locks with enough hydration to render my them soft and shiny. I will say, however, that I have repeatedly purchased Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner because it always leaves my hair soft, tangle-free and deeply moisturized. Since I had outstanding results with their daily conditioner, I knew that their Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask would be a great fit for my hair, and I was absolutely right.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask offers dry or over-processed hair intense moisture without leaving it heavy or limp. Whether you have naturally curly hair, colored hair, or hair that you subject to flat irons, blow dryers or curling irons, then this is a great rescue mask to help those traumatized tresses recover.

Neutrogena recommends that  you use it weekly, or as often as needed, and you only need to leave it in for about 5 minutes. I will say, however, that I have left it in for up to an hour, and it leaves my hair silky soft, frizz-free, shiny and remarkably moisturized. It has a light, yet pleasant, scent that seems to fade very quickly.

According to Neutrogena,

Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask rehabilitates extra dry or over-processed hair with intense moisturization. This weekly treatment is so concentrated, just a small amount is needed for hair to become soft, lustrous and shining in minutes. Three naturally derived extracts work on the hair strand to defy dryness. Olive penetrates to the center, Meadowfoam Seed helps moisturize the middle and Sweet Almond wraps the surface. Treat your hair to intense moisture with this once-a-week conditioning mask. Neutrogena Triple Moisture® provides specialized care for extra dry hair.

As it turned out, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask is a secret weapon that celebrity hairstylist Aviva Perea used on Bella Thorne's hair for the Scream Premiere.

According to Neutrogena,

We worked with hairstylist Aviva Perea for Neutrogena Brand Ambassador Bella Thorne. Bella recently dyed her hair, so we had Aviva use the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask.

According to Aviva Perea,

Bella recently went from her signature red locks to a lighter strawberry blonde. 9 1/2 times out of 10 the goal is shiny gorgeous glowing hair so it is essential, especially when you are dealing with colored hair,  that you start styling your in the shower with a proper moisturizing products. Bella washed her hair with Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo and then finished with the Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask.  Concentrating on the ends, she left it on for 5 minutes and then rinsed well.  Then I ran Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream from ears to ends and blew out her hair with a large mixed bristle brush.  Then I took 1 1/2" sections of her hair and wrapped them around a 1" barrel curling iron going in alternating directions.  Once the hair was cool we tucked one side back and finished with a high shine hair spray.
Ingredients: Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Behenyl Alcohol, Meadowfoam Seed Oil (limnanthes alba), Cyclohexasiloxane, Olive Fruit Oil (olea europaea), Sweet Almond Oil (prunus amygdalus dulcis), Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Behentrimonium Methylsulfate, Amodimethicone, Panthenol, Glycol Stearate, Ceteth 2, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Citric Acid, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Fragrance.

Overall Assessment: There are many many more jars of this in my future! Not only is it super effective on dry and over-processed hair, but it is also very reasonably priced.

  1. I never used to get frizz but I am this summer (perhaps because of my new highlights). Would this be suitable for fine, straight hair? Or would it weigh it down? Thanks!

    1. I definitely think that it would work for fine, straight hair provided that you don't leave it in too long and rinse it thoroughly. That said, this is really meant for dry and/or stressed and chemically treated hair– so if all you are trying to do is treat frizz you might find this to be more nourishing than you need. You might only really need the moisture from the conditioner from this line. I have gone through more tubes of that than I could count! It imparts great moisture, and definitely helps with my frizz. I'd love to hear what you think, if you try either.
