After having recently reviewed a very expensive luxury face oil, I was flooded with emails from readers who wanted it, but said that it was far too expensive to even consider. Several of them asked for recommendations, and there were a couple who specifically asked what I thought about the Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil because that one seemed great and was within budget. As luck would have it, I have been testing this oil for some time so I decided to expedite the review in order to accommodate their requests to learn more about this lovely oil.
According to Origins,
This lightweight face oil is fortified with 20 precious oils from around the world. Our youth-renewing blend including Argan, Sweet Almond, Sunflower, Rose and Raspberry Oils plus Anogeissus helps repair skin's barrier and mimic the natural lipid oils lost with age. It absorbs instantly to help hydrate and delete fine, dry lines with no greasy residue. Skin looks and feels youthfully-smooth, radiant and glowing. Best for reducing lines & wrinkles. Best for all skin types.
Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil is a lightweight and fast absorbing oil-based serum that has a silky texture and a delectable mild clean herbal scent. Upon contact with the skin, it immediately bolsters hydration levels, and leaves skin soft, smooth, supply, and glowing. With consistent use, the texture of of my skin was visibly improved. Fine lines were plumped, dry patches were eradicated, and dehydrated areas were left nourished and deeply moisturized.
Aside from all of the obvious benefits to the skin, there is also the added benefit that using Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil offers a lovely tactile experience. For me, this is an essential part of using luxurious skincare products. If I am to enjoy my skincare ritual, the products must enhance the luxurious experience of their use. This oil checks all of those boxes, and I can say without reservation that it is a true joy to use.
Overall Assessment: A lovely luxury face oil, indeed. Origins Plantscription Youth-Renewing Face Oil delivers all of the desired effects of a luxury face oil, but does so at a far lower cost. If you are looking to try a new oil, or you are new to face oils– then this is definitely one to consider.
Thanks for information on this one--I was wondering. Can you compare it to Colbert MD and Tatcha oil please?ReplyDelete
Anxiously awaiting your post about the Barney's bag. There was a partial leak over on PurseBlog but no picture! I know it's March 10 (called the store) but that's all.........foot is tapping! ;-)
You are very welcome! They are quite different from one another. Colbert MD Illumino is much lighter weight, and is more watery in texture than any of the other oils that I have. It also has the benefit of containing retinol which neither the TATCHA, nor the Origins oils contain. The Origins oil is more similar in weight to the TATCHA oil, but the latter is more refined and faster absorbing than the former.Delete
Yes, I am compiling the Barneys information. It's from the 10-14th, and I do have pictures, but am waiting to get a little more detailed information about the content of the two bags. There is a choice this time! There is one for men and one for women this time!
Oh my goodness! I was scouring the information here about past bags and the step up gifts. Some of the step up gifts required a purchase of $500. Would that mean you get two bags? Have you ever been given/allowed more than one bag?Delete
You have a choice between a Gift Bag for men or for women– so there are two different bags to choose from, but you only get one with your $200.00 pre-tax purchase. There are always brands that high steep minimums to get their step-up gifts, but most of them set the minimum much lower than that.Delete
Great review! I have a very nice sample from Fine Radiance Oil from British company Mitchell and Peach that I think is similar, but I have found that the dispensing system (instead of a dropper in this small bottle) is so difficult to use. You have really peaked my interest about this oil. If there's a day without snow, I may drive myself over the to the mall and see if I can get a sample from Origins to try it out before purchasing. It sounds lovely, and more affordable than the luxury oil you reviewed last week.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Allison! I haven't heard of Fine Radiance Oil! I am curious now! This Origins oil is definitely worth checking out, and I would really try to get a sample! It is definitely far more affordable than the Sisley Black Rose Oil that I reviewed last week!Delete
I've tried a sample of the Plantscription Lifting cream and really liked how it made my neck feel. I want to try the face oil next!ReplyDelete
I haven't tried their Lifting Cream, but will try to track down a sample! Their face oil is definitely worth checking out! It is very nice, and it is also exceedingly pleasant to use!Delete
More face oils, mooaaaaar! Sounds like a pretty nice one, thanks for the review.ReplyDelete
Always! You know me, Melissa– I'm completely in love with face oils! <3Delete
YAY! One for the budget! I love finding budget items so when a luxury item comes around with no budget dupe I can splurge lolReplyDelete
I know, right?! I can't only feature the expensive face oils! This one is definitely worth checking out!Delete
Origins has some nice products to boot. Thanks for recommending affordable optionsReplyDelete
They definitely do, and it is definitely a much more affordable option!Delete
This oil sounds awesome I love Argon and almond oil.ReplyDelete
It really is awesome! Argan and Almond are both such great oils!Delete
I am always impressed with the things that Origins comes out with. I have tried a few of their samples and have always enjoyed the products - which is great because my skin is so sensitive.ReplyDelete
Me too! I know how much you love face oils, and this is definitely worth getting a sample of to see if it works well for you!Delete
Sounds great! I think I might have a sample of this somewhere... So need to find it!ReplyDelete
Hi Bailey! I would definitely try to find it to see what you think! Plus, this could give your skin the perfected boost to get through the Canadian winter!Delete
It sounds so amazingReplyDelete
It really is, Betzy! It's definitely worth trying!Delete
i really enjoy the Plantscription Serum. how does this oil compare to Algenist's Microalgae?ReplyDelete
I haven't tried the Plantscription Serum, but really think this is a wonderful face oil. Ooooooh, what a good questions! Algenist's oil is lighter, a touch thinner and silkier in consistency, and sinks in faster. Origins oil has an oiler consistency (not in a bad way), is a touch thicker and takes a touch longer to sink in. Both are very nourishing and hydrating, and they both leave my skin with a wonderful luminous glow. I think that the Origins oil might be a slightly richer moisturizer, but they are both so delightful to use.Delete
Origins is always fantastic in my book!ReplyDelete
I completely agree, Jamie! :-)Delete
