Rouge D'Armani #103 + Chanel Sweet Beige Glossimer= Nude Lip Heaven! Review & Swatches

There is simply no telling what happens to the mind when one sits hours on end in one's office surrounded by scores of books, coffee, and a generous bag stuffed with makeup. My work breaks generally are punctuated by trips to acquire more caffeine, and to acquire more books. As a reprieve I might shoot a couple of pictures, start a blog post, or just play with some new makeup treasures for a couple of minutes. To that end, when I was digging around in my over stuffed makeup bag in order to freshen up my lipstick before going on another high voltage coffee run, I grabbed these two beauties-- whose inherent harmony is akin to the discovery of the perfect marriage between peanut butter and chocolate.
Rouge D'Armani Lipstick in Beige 103 is simply gorgeous and is without question the perfect pink beige nude. Rouge D'Armani #103 was very easy to pick after reading Perilously Pale's extraordinary review of this beauty, and then judiciously studying Karla Sugar's remarkable swatches of all of the Rouge D'Armani Lipsticks. It perfectly exemplifies what I consider to be the perfect pinky nude beige because you can easily persuade it to lean more pink or more peach depending on how you layer it. Quite often I opt to bring out the inner pink in this beauty by lining my lips with Rouge Bunny Rouge Vasco Lip Liner (reviewed here) and by topping Beige 103 off with Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Love (reviewed here). However, today I wanted to transform Beige 103  into more of a peachy pink beige-- therefore Chanel's Sweet Beige Glossimer was the perfect choice.

According to Armani: "Exceptional long-wear formula results in up to 8 hours of intense color. Experience comfort and shine, without fading and feathering. Soft texture leaves lips feeling continuously hydrated. Lipstick packaged in an elegant black lacquered case with an exclusive magnetic closure. Sealed with a click. Redbook's "MVP" 2010 Award Winner"

Chanel Glossimer in Sweet Beige LE (a lovely peachy pinky nude). Fret not, Sweet Beige is still available at Nordstrom and on the Chanel Website. However, Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insouciance (51) is a gorgeous peachy nude that is a good dupe for Sweet Beige, if you prefer that formula. I have Insouciance as well, and think it is really an outstanding gloss.
This is just pure pinky peach nude goodness, and I am absolutely in love with this combination.
Overall assessment: The Rouge D'Armani Lipstick formula is one of the greatest lipstick formulas that I have ever used, and Beige #103 is one of my all-time favorite lipsticks! It has the perfect texture and the perfect amount of slip. While it imparts a lovely sheen, once this lipstick sets it is both comfortable on the lips, and not prone to traveling where it's not supposed to go. Topping this amazing formula with a Chanel Glossimer (another favorite) is simply luxury lip heaven!!

Rouge D'Armani Lipsticks are $30.00 each & Chanel Glossimers are $29.50 each. I purchased both at Nordstrom.

    1. Hi Claire!! I am too! I love nudes all year long actually. I am also loving a good vampy lip, but most days I'm a bit more into nudes and pinky nudes! Armani 103 is spectacular-- I definitely want to take a closer look at 104 as well! I agree, this Chanel Glossimer is really lovely!!xx <3

    3. They really are amazing- I NEED more as well. I'm starting to get a bit irrational about my desire to collect a pile of them!! Might need an intervention!

  3. Unfortunately most nudes make me look like one of Dexter's dead playmates. I do like the peachiness in these though!

    1. OMG-- that is a hilarious visual image that you paint. I do, however, find it hard to believe that anything could make you look like death warmed over!!! It is really pretty, but you can definitely get Beige 103 to turn pink with very little effort!! xoxo

  6. Oh that really is a lovely combo--I'll have to try this! I recently decided that it's RIDICULOUS that I don't own any of the Glossimers yet, so I definitely have that on my list, as well as the Rouge d'Armanis. I originally thought I would just go the d'Armani Sheer route, but after seeing so many lovely reviews and swatches, I've decided to check out the original version too. They're just as lovely and glossy and even though they're opaque, they never seem heavy to me.

    3. LOL!! Actually, you have to check out Giggle-- it's probably my favorite Glossimer of all time. It is a gorgeous pinky nude shade. You have to swatch it, but I suspect once you do it will be going home with you! xoxox

  7. This is quite eerie because I have a verrry similar post in the works, pairing a Chanel gloss with a Rimmel lipstick - and nude too! We obviously have the same great taste Lola, haha! I'll be sure to link to your post when I do mine - I just can't get over the coincidence - what are the odds of this thing happening?!? BTW I'm a huge fan of Chanel glosses :)
