That I have had problems with many matte lipstick formulas drying my lips, may come as no surprise. For that very reason I am often reluctant to subject my lips to their drying effects, and have generally preferred more forgiving formulas. However, Shu Uemura is no typical beauty brand, and thus their matte lipsticks are far from ordinary. In fact, Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipsticks are nothing, if not extraordinary.

Unlike many matte lipsticks, which often have dry textures, Shu's Rouge Unlimited Supreme Mattes have an irresistible creamy texture that is velvety smooth. They glide across the lips effortlessly, deposit color evenly and neither feather, nor bleed. Furthermore, the formula is moisturizing, it boasts the perfect amount of cushion for comfort, and rather than feeling heavy on the lips it feels light and emollient. These lipsticks also offer buildable coverage, and can be sheered out for a wash of color, or applied in multiple passes for full opacity. Rather than appearing dry and flat, these mattes have a little more dimension without straying from the matte finish.

I usually get several hours of wear per application, and while this formula lacks the same level of longevity as the very dry matte lipsticks on the market, the Supreme Mattes are so lovely that it is no bother to reapply them more often. In my estimation, this is the perfect matte formula, and definitely my very favorite.

Overall Assessment: Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick is unquestionably my very favorite matte lipstick formula. The non-drying, velvety texture is utterly sublime, and the colors are beautiful and richly saturated. If you have a tendency to keep away from matte lipsticks, then you ought to try this paradigm-shifting formula. A+

I love cream shadows, and I love By Terry products-- so putting these two things together into one creamy eyeshadow is the stuff that dreams are made of for this particular magpie. 

The By Terry Ombre Blackstar Color-Fix Cream Eyeshadow formula is long-lasting, budge-proof and smudge-proof the from the moment that it sets until the time that you remove it-- and that is no joke! I have to use a duo-phase makeup remover to remove it! However, if you have particularly oily lids your wear-time may vary, and you may find the need to use a primer. 

I selected Bronze Moon because this is the type of shade that I can never resist-- it is the perfect neutral and infinitely wearable bronzey taupe shade. It has gorgeous refined shimmer that brightens the eyes without over-doing it. 

The luxurious texture is creamy and buttery soft lending itself to effortlessly gliding across the eyelids without incident. That said, you do need to blend it out rather quickly since it won't budge once it sets. Unlike some long-wearing cream eyeshadows that seem to tug on the lids once they dry, an uncomfortable situation that I really dislike, By Terry Ombre Blackstar Color-Fix Cream Eyeshadows feel natural on the eyelids without any discomfort or pulling. When I apply it in the morning before leaving for work, it remains steadfastly in place without cracking, peeling, fading, transferring or smudging until I remove it. I have worn it from 7AM until Midnight before, and it looked as it did when I applied it! I find this remarkable!

The pigmentation is sensational, and is matched by the overall high quality of the product. Bronze Moon is the perfect stand alone shade that is at once elegant and perfect as a wash of color accompanied only by eyeliner and mascara. It's as close to a fuss-free swatch and go shade that I could  hope for!

Overall Assessment: Absolutely, positively stunning! The quality is exemplary, the wear-time is outstanding, and the color is utterly gorgeous! That said, the price point is quite high-- therefore I'm not likely to collect every color.

I love the convenience and efficacy of pre-soaked exfoliating pads, and as a result I have used them with great for some time now. The newest to make it into my rotation is the fantastic RODIAL X-treme Pore Shrink Cleansing Pads from their new SUPER ACIDS line, and in my collection this will stay! Yes, I am that happy with the SUPER ACIDS Collection in general, and the X-treme Pore Shrink Cleansing Pads are definitely at the top of my love list!

According to Rodial,

My experience: While Rodial does suggest using these pads twice daily (AM & PM) on clean dry skin-- I tend to use them once a day instead. The pads themselves are very generously soaked with Rodial's magical serum, and will unquestionably give you more than enough product to use on your face. After a single use I could see that these were no ordinary exfoliating pad because rather than simply lifting and removing dead skin and dirt it, and leaving skin somewhat stripped as some exfoliating pads do, SUPER ACIDS X-treme Pore Shrink Cleansing Pads leave skin hydrated thanks to the Beneficial biotilys probiotic technology.

After use my skin reveals a pronounced clarity and radiance, but it also appears lifted and more refined. While I wouldn't say that my skin appears poreless, I would say that my skin appears more toned and taut-- and my pores are less noticeable (though I wouldn't say that enlarged pores is an issue for me).

If you have a particularly small face, you may want to cut the pads in half because they are generous in size and are very saturated with serum.

Overall Assessment: A wonderful addition to Rodial's already amazing line of products. If you are a fan of exfoliating pads, then you will love the difference that you see in your skin when you begin using these effective cleansing pads.
