Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Mega Matte in Oblivion

Longtime readers will certainly tell you that I generally prefer glossy textured lipsticks to mattes, and I find that the majority of the mattes on the market are drying, dull, lifeless and inherently unflattering. However, there are always exceptions, and the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Mega Matte in Oblivion is one such exception, in my estimation. Urban Decay is 100% Cruelty-Free.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Mega Matte in Oblivion is a creamy, lightly emollient, and non-drying matte that glides across the lips effortlessly, deposits color evenly, and it neither feathers, nor pools. It delivers full opaque coverage in a single pass, it does not feel heavy on the lips, and while it is a matte it boasts a very light sheen that prevents it from being flat. I get 4+ hours of wear-time from a single application, and find that it fades evenly when it begins to wear off. Oblivion, which is described as a gray-taupe, is a really beautiful, and infinitely flattering, mauve-taupe that strikes me as more complex than a gray-taupe.
According to Urban Decay,

An innovative lip formula, in an array of shades and finishes, that gives an unbelievable laydown of color with just one swipe.

Vice Lipstick features six indulgent finishes and array of addictive shades that range from bold brights to dark hues to versatile neutrals. Each shade applies smoothly (without dragging or skipping), hugs lips, and feels ultra-comfortable. Urban Decay’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System™ gives the formula its super-creamy texture, rich payout, and superior color dispersion.

This creamy formula is packed with nourishing ingredients. A butter blend comforts, hydrates, and enhances, leaving lips soft and conditioned, and never dry. Aloe vera, jojoba, avocado, and babassu oils nourish and soften lips. Illipe butter, derived from Malaysian illipe trees, provides long-lasting moisture, while the vitamins C and E deliver a hint of antioxidants.

Overall Assessment: I am surprised by the extent to which I love this lipstick, and thought that I would tire of wearing a matte lipstick, but Oblivion is so beautiful and comfortable on the lips that I find myself reaching for it more often than I would ever have imagined.

  1. So glad you're enjoying your new Vice lippies. Sadly, my super dry lips struggle when wearing even their hydrating matte or the metallics. I'm disappointed coz the shades are all so gorgeous

    1. UD definitely does high quality mattes, but if they still dry out your lips, then definitely pass. This color is just perfect for me!

  3. It looks like the actual bullet of the lipstick has a texture to it?

    1. It's sweating on the sides a bit, and the top isn't so much texture as it is a fi=unction of having swatched it and worn it. I took pictures before swatching, but when I blew them up they didn't look right.
