NYC New York Color HD Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner | Review

I always feel triumphant when I am able to find great drugstore eyeliners, and it hurts a whole lot less if you happen to lose one while traveling when it only cost you a few dollars in the first place. My latest drugstore eyeliner discovery is the NYC New York Color HD Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner, and I have been testing out 4 out of the five shades available.

NYC New York Color HD Automatic Waterproof Eyeliners in Black, Navy Blue, Deep Brown and Turquoise are pigmented pencils that effortlessly glide across the skin and deposit color evenly without tugging or pulling. The consistency, of all four shades, is super creamy, soft and smooth. Each shade that I tested can be smudged out for a smoky eye or boldly defined for a crisp cat-eye. They don't crumble or flake, and once they set I get all day wear without fading or transfer, but it should be noted that I do not have oily eyelids. The convenient twist up liners have a built-in smudger sponge and a hidden built-in sharpener underneath the smudged for extra convenience.
According to NYC New York,

Twist, line and smudge! HD Automatic Eyeliner makes your dream eye look easy and speedy. This skinny pencil just twists up to reveal a perfect point that makes applying color a breeze. At the other end is a brilliant pro-style blending tool for customising your look.

Intense automatic liners with waterproof performance. Go for glamour with a fine line, or amp up the drama with a smokey look. No matter which way you style it, you get maximum impact, high definition color for an eye-catching look that lasts all day.

These super soft liners provide intense color in a perfectly smooth formula, giving you coverage that never pulls or flakes. The waterproof formula offers style that stays all day, and with a built-in smudger and auto-sharpener, this retractable liner gives you ultimate control for any eye style.

Benefits:
  • Long lasting
  • Waterproof
  • Retractable and ultra precise application
Suggested use: For a thin line, gently glide liner along your lower and upper lash lines. To build a smokey look, smudge slightly with the smudger.
Available in 5 shades: Black (001), Navy Blue (002), Deep Brown (003), Turquoise
and Deep Purple (005)
Top to Bottom: Turquoise, Navy Blue, Black and Dark Brown

Turquoise is more of a teal with shimmer than a true turquoise.
Navy Blue is a deep true navy.
Black is deep and rich.
Dark Brown is a rich deep brown.
Overall Assessment: I can't believe that these eyeliners are only $2.00 each. You just can't go wrong with them!

$2.00 from Target, Walmart, CVS and other drugstores (Affiliate Links).

    1. Hi Kristina, Is it a gorgeous shade of teal?! I have no idea why they called it turquoise because it's definitely a lovely shade of teal! It is definitely worth having, and for that price you can buy backups for your backups without any guilt!

    1. Me too, isn't it insanely gorgeous?! I know what you mean, and frankly it's hard to tell the difference once worn between a great quality drugstore eyeliner and an expensive one from a department store. Plus that gap keeps getting smaller and smaller between the two as drugstore brands continue to up their game!
