Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Midnight Sea | Review, Swatches & Availability

Purchased by Me (Affiliated Links)

Tom Ford Beauty Cream and Powder Eye Color in Midnight Sea (Limited Edition) from the Summer 2015 Soleil Collection is still available, and like Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Naked Bronze (Limited Edition; reviewed here) it is worth every last cent. I am so glad that I picked one up, and urge you to grab one, if you have been wanting this twinkling gem, while there are still some left.

This staggeringly beautiful duo features a stunning Cream Color for Eyes on the bottom that is a repromote of Spring 2015 Cream Color for Eyes (Limited Edition; reviewed here). It is a complex khaki-kissed charcoal shade that is so exceptional that I was happy to repurchase it for its sooty smoky goodness. However, I also really needed that stunning Celestial Powder in that luscious teal shade because it was unlike anything else in my collection.

While the teal Celestial Shade offers stunning shimmer, it is not too glittery, and therefore is even office appropriate if you tone it down by sheering out the Cream Shadow. It does, however, offer buildable coverage that would be far more appropriate for an intense evening look. Unless you have oily eyelids, you won't likely feel the need to use a primer underneath the cream shadow. I find this formula to be budge-proof and it lasts on me all day without fading, creasing or smudging.
 According to Tom Ford Beauty,

Tom Ford Cream & Powder Eye Color pairs two coveted formulas in one to create a lustrous and sexy summertime eye. The ultra-pigmented, metallic cream shadow glides onto lids with a rich, molten glow and the sparkling celestial powder intensifies the look with alluring shimmer.
About the Summer 2015 Tom Ford Beauty Soleil Collection:

The Summer 2015 Tom Ford Soleil Collection captures the warmth and sensuality of summer skin. Eyes smolder in burnished, sun-kissed tones or metallic shades of aqua and storm. Cheeks glow with luminous warmth and lips are saturated with sheer shades of nude and rose. Completing the irresistible effect, Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil veils the skin in golden light and fragrance that evokes the erotic pleasure of sand, sea and sun.

Spring 2015 and Midnight Sea
While Spring 2015 and the Cream Color in Midnight Sea are said to be one and the same, my swatches of Spring 2015 seem to indicate that while the hue is the same that the intensity seems a touch amplified in Spring 2015.
These swatches fail in comparison to seeing the magnificence of Midnight Sea in person.
Cream Color for Eyes in Spring 2015 is $42.00 for .21 oz. vs. the Cream Color for Eyes in Midnight Sea is $60.00 for .24 oz. of Cream Color and .07 oz. of the Celestial Powder Shadow.

    1. Me too, it's Sunny's fault that I caved and bought this. I passed on it since I already had Spring 2015 Eye Shadow Cream, but her review finally pushed me over the edge! It really is sublime, no question!

    1. Unsurprisingly, I had the same reaction at first. Once I started to play with this stunning duo, I was left spellbound! The layered effect blew my mind! I know that you already have Spring 2015, but I think that you might need to grab this one before it is gone!

  7. I need some of these cream-and-powder pairs to play with. Your posts alone will be responsible for all the money I spend in Selfridges next week!

  9. This is so pretty. I have the spring cream e/s so I skipped this. What I'll do is to layer some teal over it for pizzaz!

    1. Even though I already had Spring 2015, I didn't have anything close to this teal Celestial Shade– so I just went for it! I also love Spring 2015 so much that I didn't mind having a backup!

    2. Helen, I caved, too! Although I've been wearing Pink Haze and Spice with celestial shades from the Golden Mink and Cognac Sable quads, I simply didn't have anything that resembled the teal in the summer duo. The color is easy enough to dupe. That's not the issue. It's that smooth gleam and micro-shimmer that is what is special about TF's formula. So, yeah, after playing around a bit with Spring 2015, I went back and bought Midnight Sea. Now I have enough Spring 2015 to last until spring 2055! LOL

    3. Hi Eileen,

EXACTLY! I know that I could go out and find a close dupe for the teal, but it was about the TF formula, and while we will both have enough Spring 2015 until at LEAST spring 2055– who cares!!! I still haven't picked up Black Oyster, but am thinking about it. I love these!!!!!!!! <3

    4. BTW, I am very glad that you caved, Eileen– I suspect that you would have regretted passing on this extraordinary beauty!
