By Request: Pink Blush Comparison! Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink as it Compares to Burberry Peony & Misty, Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis, Tom Ford Frantic Pink and Milani Beauty's Touch- Swatches Galore!

All purchased by me
After reading my post entitled, "Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Color in Frantic Pink & Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink Side by Side- Swatches," Naomi asked me to expand the field a touch and include a few other blushes for comparison. She specifically wanted to see how Armani No. 2 compared to Burberry Misty, Burberry Peony, and Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis. Then Gummy wondered how the Armani & Ford blushes compared to her most coveted Burberry blushes. Therefore, I decided to oblige my two friends and engage in a veritable swatchfest for them. I decided to include Tom Ford Frantic Pink and a budget friendly drugstore blush by choosing Milani Beauty's Choice. Be aware that I limited the scope considerably since I have far more pink blushes than what you see here.

1) Tom Ford Frantic Pink
2) Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink
3) Burberry Misty
4) Burberry Peony
 5) Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis
6) Milani Beauty's Touch
1) Tom Ford Frantic Pink
2) Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink
3) Burberry Misty
4) Burberry Peony
 5) Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis
6) Milani Beauty's Touch
While Burberry Misty, Burberry Peony, Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis, and Milani Beauty's Touch are decidedly blue-based cool leaning pinks- the same can hardly be said for Tom Ford Frantic Pink and Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink. Instead, they appear to be warmer- at least comparatively speaking. While Armani No. 2 is quite light it remains more neutral than Frantic Pink-which is warmer and richer in hue. If you have a penchant for cool blue-based pinks, neither Frantic Pink nor Armani No. 2 will really comport to your taste, while the remaining 4 shades most assuredly will.

I would say that the smooth buttery soft and finely milled texture of the Armani blush is consistent with that of the coveted Burberry formula. In fact, all of the blushes are soft and silky- but I would characterize the Armani and Burberry blushes as more so than the others. Milani Beauty's Touch is surprisingly finely milled and silky smooth for a drugstore brand, and quite frankly does an astounding job keeping up with these luxury blushes.

I am a blush fiend, and I am dazzled by all six of these beauties. I do wish that Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani would expand their color selections as the former has far too many warm toned shades for my cool skin-tone (notwithstanding Wicked- which beckons me) , and the latter has too many muted muddy colors that really don't do a thing for my complexion. That said, the Armani blush is a real treat to use, and you can rest assured that any blue-based pinks that make it into their upcoming collections (permanent or limited edition) will make it into my coveted stash!

Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Color in Frantic Pink & Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 Pink Side by Side- Swatches

Both purchased by me
This is intended as more of a pictorial post than an in-depth review of the two products featured because they appear to be part of the same color family. Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Color in Frantic Pink (review forthcoming) & Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush in No. 2 Pink (review forthcoming) both fall somewhere on the pink spectrum, but on me both transform into more of a peachy pink.
That both blushes are indeed luxury products with luxury price tags is rather obvious, and both are done quite well.
Left pair: Frantic Pink light swatch & heavy swatch. Right pair: Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush No. 2 light swatch & heavy swatch.
At an astounding $55.00 for .28 oz, Tom Ford Frantic Pink is the most expensive. Meanwhile, Giorgio Armani No. 2 Pink costs $44.00 for .21 oz, and is comparable in price to the Burberry Light Glow Blush that cost $42.00 for .24 oz, and Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush $43.00 for .14 oz.

While both Frantic Pink and No. 2 Pink are both finely milled, the texture of the Giorgio Armani blush is more finely milled and creamier. No. 2 is a softer shade than Frantic Pink, whereas Frantic Pink is comparatively darker, as well as more powdery and dry. This is by no means to say that Frantic Pink is chalky, but that No. 2 Pink is far more creamy and soft.  Like No. 2 Pink, Frantic Pink also imparts a lovely healthy glow, and that is indeed one of the hallmarks of Tom Ford Cheek Colors. Of the two, No. 2 is more subtle and natural looking, but Frantic Pink is likewise hard to overdo. Both are lovely colors, and indeed high quality luxury blushes, but if creamy dreamy soft textured über finely milled blushes are your preference- then the Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush and Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush formulas will likely be more to your liking. That said, I am really loving Frantic Pink and No. 2 Pink- and am reaching for both quite often! Both are utterly perfect for the season!

Le Métier de Beauté Bauhaus Lip Kaleidoscope- Review & Swatches

Purchased by me.
Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope Lip Kit in Bauhaus is a gorgeous lip palette consisting of beautifully compatible sheer shades that are nothing short of stunning- whether used individually or layered. While this was a Holiday 2012 palette, they are still available online at Neiman Marcus-- and I believe that it is well worth having.
A deviously divine mix of function, flame and form, Le Metier de Beauté introduces the newest Holiday Kaleidoscope Lip Kit "Bauhaus," exclusively for Neiman Marcus online. Each distinctive hue blends together effortlessly for a dimensional pout, mirroring the bold Bauhaus notion of combining unique parts for a collective whole. Lips will be left with a total package, mixing statement and sophistication.

Shades include (from top to bottom):
Linaire— a lustrous gold-infused rose petal
Criterion— a gilded amber-peach
Esthetique— a shimmering vintage rose
Shilhouette— a Cimmerian cloak of sheer amethyst
Linaire— a lustrous gold-infused rose petal. While the base is itself a cool-leaning rose, it is warmed up by gold pearl.
Criterion— a gilded amber-peach. It is a gorgeous peachy nude.
Esthetique— a shimmering vintage rose. It is a stunning pink that will make you swoon.
Shilhouette— a Cimmerian cloak of sheer amethyst. This is purple perfection- it is a pinky lavender that  is infinitely wearable, and breathtakingly gorgeous.
Left to Right: Linaire, Criterion, Esthetique, and Cimmerian.
 Outdoor lighting in the sun
All four shades, whether or not mixed, are incredibly comfortable on the lips. The formula has the perfect amount of cushion, is moisturizing, and is long-wearing when compared to most lip glosses. I get upwards of 4 hours of wear-time, but your mileage may vary. My lips remain soft, supple, and beautifully shiny when I wear this stellar combination of lip glosses. This really is a gorgeous lip kit!

Overall assessment: True love! The price is tag is exorbitant, no doubt. That said, I would recommend checking the Neiman Marcus website frequently because I picked this up for $45.00 during one of their Midday Dash sales (and that is not the first time that I have purchased LMdB from them at a fraction of the regular price).

Zeus the Overlord of the Door: the New Mount Olympus!

Zeus is an acrobat, and as such he tends to treat the top of doors as balance beams.
He is extremely graceful and agile...
 ...most of the time.
He loves to display his prowess to all who will stop to take note.
Everyone notices his shenanigans, and the dogs tend to look on with a combination of confusion and curiosity.
He doesn't recognize limitations, but instead prefers to calculate solutions to obstacles as they appear.
While many of his antics seem somewhat aberrant or even downright bizarre for a cat- be assured that this is just normal Zeus behavior. He is utterly amusing to be around, but make no mistake he is one seriously weird creature!

The Tale of Rouge Bunny Rouge Succulence of Dew Sheer Lipstick in Murmurings...and the Great Adventure of Finding it! Review & Swatches!

nce upon a time there was a girl who loved makeup with great passion. One day while walking down the street, with her head in the clouds dreaming about the perfect sheer lipstick, she fell into an open manhole.

As she was tumbling, in what seemed to be an endless journey downward, she imagined that she would land in some lurid under-city catacomb of sorts- the likes of Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

She clenched her fists close to her chest and continued her descent to where she knew not.
Still from Fritz Lang’s — Metropolis, 1927 (source).

She continued falling for what seemed to be an eternity, and her watch began spinning backwards. Eventually the dark gave way to light, and soon she could see a beautiful sight, but was somewhat disoriented because things appeared upside down as she tumbled toward an oculus. It was filled with clouds, putti, a peacock, and people peering toward her as she was falling at great rates of speed toward them.

Once she landed, she was greeted by a lovely bunny who simultaneously (and magically) spoke in two languages. The bunny exclaimed,

"Welcome, we have been expecting you! Let us help you get up."

"Добро пожаловать, мы ждали вас! Позвольте нам помочь вам встать."
Albrecht Dürer. Young Hare, 1502 (source).
What was the most odd was the fact that the girl wasn't at all surprised by this rather unusual encounter. She simply smiled and simultaneous said "thank you" and "спасибо."

The bunny then indicated that they, in the magical land of Rouge Bunny Rouge, were very well aware  that the girl had dreaming about the perfect sheer lipstick, and realized that they must make a preemptive move to prevent her from wandering the earth forever in search of the perfect sheer lipstick. It was then that they decided to make her fall down the rabbit hole to end her quest once and for all.

The bunny then directed her to the Succulence of Dew Lipstick Trees- where she was to pick her shade. To the girl, from afar the trees appeared to offer fruit rather than lipsticks. However, once she reached the trees the oranges magically transformed into the most gorgeous sparkling tubes of lipstick.
(PURCHASED BY ME)
She picked the first tube that she could reach and when she opened it the lipstick itself whispered "my name is Murmurings, and you and I are perfect for one another." The girl smiled at the tube that she held, and responded "you are the most beautiful lipstick to behold, and I love you!"
Murmurings is the perfect subtle red lipstick. It is more sheer, yet buildable- therefore it is perfect for people who are afraid of wearing red lipstick. It leaves your lips plump and juicy, and utterly kissable. It is immensely moisturizing, with the perfect amount of slip and cushion, and is simply about as perfect as perfect can get.

Murmurings is described as, "Wet effect, sheer, cool damson - Like having just eaten a bowl of cherries."

The girl, without the aid of a mirror, placed the lipstick on her lips- and then immediately found herself walking back where she came from before she fell down the Rouge Bunny Rouge rabbit hole. She looked in her hand to see that she was clutching Murmurings as though her very survival was dependent on it. After her bewilderment subsided, she exclaimed "I didn't get to say thank you or goodbye to the Bunny!" Murmurings then responded, "You did so by selecting me, and worry not- you are always welcome in our magical land-- all you have to do is think about it and you will be transported."
This lipstick range is inspired by the translucently delicate butterflies from the Enchanted Garden.

Their finesse is captured and cradled here for you in a sensuously sheer lipstick which acts with the power of a gloss. Soft diaphanous colours hover on your lips so finely that they enhance and refine your naturalness into a graceful glamour. You’ll whisper sexy enchantments with full, moist and brilliantly shiny lips, but you’ll never be overdone. Once you experience the beguilement you’ll create with this new subtlety, you will never go back to having to shout. With such water-honeyed murmurings, you’ll leave them longing for just one more glimpse of you…
The easy glide, hydrating dew finish formula ensures superb comfort and softness. Suffused with Manoi butter, Hop Extract and Vitamin E, to nourish and protect from dryness and ageing. Marine Filling Spheres fill in fine lines and wrinkles; Sepilift provides a firming action and re-sculpts the lips to fullness.
Ingredients: Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Vp/Eicosene Copolymer, Synthetic Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cera Microcristallina, Mica, Dicalcium Phosphate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Propylene Carbonate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Tocopheryl Acetate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Propylparaben, Parfum, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower, Tocopherol, Humulus Lupulus Extract, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Atecollagen, Limonene, Eugenol, Citral. Overall Assessment: Pure unmitigated magic. Simply best in class! It is even more magical than the aforementioned story suggests. Murmurings is absolute unadulterated perfection. I suspect that you need it in your life as much as I do. It is a timeless classic that is modern, luxurious, whimsical, and utterly stunning!
