When I think of the Baroque, I am immediately transported to seventeenth-century Rome, and the resplendent art that followed the Renaissance and preceded the Age of Enlightenment. Among one of my favorite works is Valentin's painting of Judith shown above. I have spent countless hours studying this painting, and the beautiful ornamental details and rich and luscious Baroque palette.

When I first swatched the Painted Earth SuperWear Gel Liner in Baroque No. 04, I immediately thought of the rich warm Baroque palette seen in this hauntingly beautiful painting. The color is a rich golden bronze with a slight olive green undercurrent accentuated  by rich luminous pearl. The color is so gorgeous that it is truly breathtaking.

According to Painted Earth,

This gel eyeliner is the ultimate smooth, smudge-proof easy to apply eye liner formula.
Intense color pay-off, long-lasting, excellent coverage and an extremely high-shine effect.  Super moisturizing and hydrating ingredients, including Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil, give the pencil a very soft and smooth application. No touch-up is required.
Easy to apply eye liner formula.
The texture of this gel liner is amazingly smooth, and it effortlessly glides on without any pulling or tugging whatsoever. The color payoff is very impressive in this richly pigmented opaque hue. I have experienced no migration or smudging, and once it sets it stays put until you remove it. It has the ease of application associated with gel products, but with the convenience of a pencil. It is easy to create the most beautiful cat eye with no effort. It can easily deliver the precise line and flick associated with liquid eyeliners without the same need for that level skill, or a super steady hand. In that way this is a perfect product for those making their first forays into looks that require greater skill without the fear of making a mess. This is truly one of the very best eyeliner pencils that I have used, and I have used many!

  2. I'm totally in love with this liner. The color is so gorgeous. I have it in black and it wears fabulously. The purple is such a pretty color (the little box does it no justice) and it glides on. But the star of the show is Baroque. It's green with greens and more khaki/gold with browns. This is a liner I want in my stash all the time.I've got to try Mystic next.

    1. Me too!!! Perfect description of it too! I really want to try the other colors-- I didn't realize that there was a purple in there!!!!!!!! The color boxes are so misleading. I definitely want the black because that is my go-to color for eye liners. The quality really is phenomenal, and I honestly can't think of another line has a liner that applies so smoothly and perfectly! Truly there is little need to buy other liners- unless there is another color that you need/want. I am totally in love!
