This cruelty-free brand, which is completely invested in sustainability practices, is very mindful of their packaging and is completely plastic-free. The aluminum tin, in which this deodorant is housed, can simply be recycled when you are done. Zion Health ClayDry Bold Deodorant in Sweet Amber is a new-to-me cruelty-free and Vegan deodorant that I recently began using. I only use more natural deodorants, but they need to be effective and pleasant smelling for me to use them with any frequency. This deodorant is cruelty-free, vegan, aluminum-free, non-toxic and it actually moisturizes the skin without leaving an unpleasant residue. Furthermore, it does not stain clothes in any way. The formula is a little dry, which presumably accounts for the fact that it is residue-free, and it has a warm and creamy amber-musky aroma. The scent sits close to the skin, and effectively neutralizes underarm odor.

Overall Assessment: I am pretty picky about my deodorants, and I really like this one a lot. I would like to try some of their floral scents to see how they wear compared to this one.

As noted many times in these virtual pages, I am a huge proponent of healthy deodorants formulated without harsh chemical compounds. Therefore, I was very happy to try Starling Deodorant in Pink Rose. This deodorant is natural, and therefore contains none of the ingredients that I will not use in a deodorant, but it also moisturizes and conditions the skin without being greasy or uncomfortable. The delightful rose aroma offers long-lasting odor protection, but since it is a deodorant, rather than an anti-perspirant, it will not prevent you from sweating. It is a wonderful, and high quality, deodorant that is definitely worthy of your consideration.

Crystal Freshly Minted and Mountain Fresh Mineral Rich Invisible Solid Deodorants Revisited

I actually began using natural deodorants when I was in high school because I was very uncomfortable using mainstream chemical-laden deodorants and anti-perspirants. Therefore, I never had to transition to the healthier variants (though I have used the drugstore varieties, but I have always preferred the healthy ones). If you want to switch to a healthy deodorant that is vegan, cruelty-free and quite affordable, then the CRYSTAL Mineral-Enriched Deodorant collection is worthy of your consideration. I added two of them into my routine about a year ago, and liked using them so much that I decided to revisit their Mountain Fresh and Freshly Minted deodorants. These are both unisex scents that can be used by the whole family for effective all-day odor protection, but be advised that these are not antiperspirants and therefore they will not prevent sweating. I find this formula particularly effective, fuss-free and pleasant to use, and of course the list of healthy ingredients instills confidence rather than concern for me.

The Nubian Heritage Mango Butter Collection is Delectable!

I love Nubian Heritage products because they are effective, they smell delicious (though they have unscented products too), they are affordable and they are cruelty-free. However, their Mango Butter Collection is so delectable that from the moment I opened the hand cream it was clear to me that this collection was my favorite by far. The aroma is absolutely glorious, and it smells like a creamsicle on a warm summer day.

Nubian Heritage Mango Butter Hand Cream ($9.99 for 4 oz. from Nubian Heritage and The Vitamin Shoppe): This is a wonderful mid-weight hand cream that melts into the skin quickly and without leaving skin greasy. It is ultra-moisturizing and nourishing, and it does an excellent job softening the skin. The scent is utterly delectable, but it does not linger too long, and therefore won't interfere with other fragrances that you might plan to wear.

According to Nubian Heritage,

Protect hands from the harsh, drying effects of the environment with this moisturizing treatment formulated with tropical ingredients Mango and Orange.

Directions: Squeeze a dime-sized amount of nutrient-rich hand cream into palms and gently massage into dry hands to deep moisturize and protect your skin.

I find it so emollient that I can use it to shave my legs.

Nubian Heritage Mango Butter 24 Hour Deodorant ($6.99 for 2.25 oz. from Nubian Heritage and The Vitamin Shoppe): If you use natural deodorants, then I definitely recommend trying one from Nubian Heritage. However, if you use mainstream chemical-based antiperspirants and deodorants, then you may not like these. They are decidedly earthy, and they will not control perspiration. Their deodorants are formulated with nourishing ingredients like shea butter and essential oils, and I find them moisturizing as well as effective at controlling under arm odor. I should state, however, that I have been using natural deodorants since high school, so I am in no way weaning myself from mainstream drugstore deodorants and antiperspirants. These are natural, non-GMO deodorants that are truly healthy for the skin.

If you are new to the world of natural deodorants, be aware that sometimes people with sensitive armpits can get rashes, or irritated skin. If that happens, just stop using them. I have pretty sensitive skin under my arms, and this formula doesn't irritate my skin, but I have had some natural deodorants irritate my skin over the years.

I should note that I cannot vouch for Nubian Heritage's 24 hour claim because I never have it on for a full 24 hours, but I can say that I find this formula very effective and long-wearing.

Schmidt's Naturals Deodorant in Rose + Vanilla | Review

I have been using Schmidt's Naturals Toothpastes (Reviewed HERE) for quite some time, and really like them a lot, and therefore I was particularly interested in trying more of their products. At the top of my list has been their natural deodorants, particularly since I only use natural deodorants. I have seen their deodorants at a lot of my local Los Angeles grocery stores (Erewhon, Whole Foods and Gelson's), but they never seemed to have any of the Rose + Vanilla Natural Deodorants in stock, and that was the one that I really wanted. Thankfully, I was able to finally find one, and one sniff was all it took for me to toss it in my shopping cart.

First, the aroma of Schmidt's Naturals Deodorant in Rose + Vanilla is a warm and creamy rose that smells good enough to wear as a perfume. It is sweet, but not too sweet, and it isn't imposing. It is filled with healthy plant and mineral-based ingredients, and it's vegan and cruelty-free.

I have sensitive underarm skin, and have often found many chemical-laden and natural deodorants alike irritate my skin and can cause redness, but this does not. It applies with ease, doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy, and doesn't stain my clothing. It is not an antiperspirant, and therefore it will not prevent you from sweating, but it does quell unwelcome odors. I apply it in the morning, and it lasts all day long without incident, but your experience may vary given the difference between my body chemistry and yours. For me this was a great purchase, and I am very happy with the results.
