As a long-time fan of Denman brushes, I am always elated when I try a new brush from this outstanding British brand. Made in the U.K., these brushes are built to last, and they are a treat to use. The Denman Brush D90L The Deluxe Ultra Detangler in Kyoto Cherry Blossom is probably the most charming brush that I have ever had, and the Kyoko Cherry Blossoms put a smile on my face each time that I use this brush.

This brush really is a great detangler! As someone with naturally curly hair, that tends to knot, this brush does a great job gently detangling my hair. Denman suggests brushing from the bottom up to avoid damaging the hair, and that is the method that I always use. The paddle has a nice big surface area, and therefore you can brush large amounts of hair at once. The bristles boast a nice firmness, without being hard and uncomfortable, and they feel so good on the scalp. This brush can be used on wet or dry hair, and it is what I reach for every time that I wash my hair.

Denman Style & Shine Brush in Pink Crush Review

I have loved Denman brushes since I was a teenager, and I have the same love for my most recent brush from this iconic UK brand. The Denman Style & Shine Brush in Pink Crush is a wonderful brush composed of natural boar bristles punctuated by nylon bristles. It feels exceptionally good against the scalp, it effortlessly detangles hair and it is lightweight– yet sturdy– in the hand. It magically smooths the hair and leaves it manageable and shiny. I am not at all sure how this is possible, but somehow it is– even on my naturally curly hair.

Overall Assessment: This is an excellent brush, and it's quite affordable given its seemingly magical abilities.

In the event that you have neither heard of, nor tried Denman hair brushes, here is a bit of history about this UK brush brand:

Started by an innovator more than 80 years ago, the iconic Denman brand remains a leading light in haircare today. During a trip to New York, a young entrepreneur from Northern Ireland, John Denman Dean, was introduced to a new revolutionary product, Nylon. He returned home with a cabin full of this new material and soon after the war found a use for it in hairbrushes. By the 1950’s the reputation of this innovative new brush began to grow. 

It was Vidal Sassoon’s 60’s hairdressing revolution however, that truly established Denman as the must-have hairbrush. The Denman D4 Original Styler was the perfect tool to create the highly technical Sassoon haircuts like the iconic asymmetric Mary Quant bob.

I had my first Denman brush as a teenager, and loved it and used it daily. Therefore, when I learned about the Denman Wet Detangler Brush, I was thrilled to try it.

This brush can be used on wet or dry hair, and can be used in or out of the shower. It is made to be used on straight, wavy, curly, coily, thick, fine, thin and fragile hair, and it also feels excellent against the scalp. The flexible pins are at staggered heights, they are firm and gentle on the scalp, and they do an exemplary job detangling the hair. This brush can be used with shampoo and conditioner, and I have found that it does an excellent job detangling my curly hair.

Overall Assessment: I am so happy with this brush. It lives up to its claims, and I can attest to the fact that it detangles my curly hair without any issues whatsoever! I cannot wait to try more of their brushes!
