In a week that was fraught with considerable frustration (uncooperative blog domain migration from blogspot to .com, and having to move into a new office because of the commencement of a large-scale construction project at work)- there have been two very bright rays of light that have lifted my spirits. First, Susan Thompson Cosmetics created Lola's Secret Lipstick in my honor, and then I was selected as among the 10 Beauty Bloggers You Need to Know by the critically acclaimed HauteTalk (and I was included among some of my good friends!).

I don't even know how to begin to express my gratitude, love and respect for my very close friend who created a lipstick in my honor. Never in my wildest musings could I have imagined such a gift bestowed upon me. That I love Susan Thompson Cosmetics has long been known to you, and a day does not go by that I do not use at least one product from her stellar well-edited collection. Suzi knows my taste in makeup, and my penchant for lip products- so when she handed me the lipstick that she created for me- she said, "this is the perfect pink for you." I think it's simply the perfect pink of all time!

I'm still pinching myself! What a lucky girl am I to have a friend that loves me enough to create such a gorgeous lipstick for me! 

Lola's Secret is a truly divine blue-based pink that defies a simple description. It isn't a Barbie Pink, and it is a little lighter than your average mid-tone pink. It is somewhere between the highly sought after My Lips But Better (MLBB) shade and the quintessential grown-up pink. It has a complexity about it in that the color modulates in the light, and therefore has a chameleon-like quality. It can be worn as a simple wash of color that is barely there, or it can be built up to full unadulterated opacity. It is utter perfection, and the ultimate pink lip nirvana. Naturally, it is my favorite lipstick for the perfect pink pout, who am I trying to fool-- it is my favorite lipstick of all time!! At this rate of use I will finish the tube in record time!

Pink Purrrrfection!

Lola's Secret has a matte finish, but is part of the Creamy Lipstick range- and therefore not your average drying matte lipstick. I find it to be non-drying, but if you have very dry lips you may want to add a touch of lip balm beneath this jewel.
