Steeped Coffee Review

Press Sample (Unaffiliated Links)

If you are a coffee drinker, like me, then I have a very interesting coffee brand to share with you. Steeped Coffee, from Santa Cruz, California, is an innovative brand that makes coffee in single serve bags that you brew the same way as tea. They ethically source their coffee beans, and their practices exceed the Fair Trade minimums.

At home I use a French Press, but at work I do not. For a while I have been contemplating putting a coffee pot in my office, but I would still have to walk over to the department office for water and to dispose of the coffee grounds there as well. My other option is to use our main office coffeemaker, but it's inefficient for just one person to use. Therefore, when Steeped Coffee sent me this package I knew that it would be perfect to take to work. I can store the coffee in my desk and simply get hot water from the main office whenever the spirit moves me.

Features:
- 100% Specialty Coffee: No solubles, crystals, or freeze-drying needed
- No Machine: single serve convenience
- Ultrasonically Sealed: no glue or staples
- Precision Ground Coffee: consistent water-cooled grinding to the micron
- Full Immersion Filter
- Nitro Sealed for Freshness
- Just Add Water
They have five coffees from which to choose, and they are roasted in small batches. Perhaps the most important questions is whether or not their coffees taste good, and I definitely think that they do.

According to Steeped Coffee,

Steeped Coffee bags are filled with fresh, direct trade coffee that's roasted locally in small batches and precision ground to the micron. From Decaf to French roast, we have a blend for you.

We believe that coffee is an experience that starts long before it is steeped in your cup. A quality cup of coffee is not just enjoyable to our taste buds, but is also dependent on the attention to detail from each farmer, the direct trade relationships built to support the communities at origin, and craftsmanship carried through our roasting. Every detail matters and our direct trade coffee allows us to ethically source each bean through growing relationships and buying practices that far exceed Fair Trade minimums. Steeped Coffee invites you to become part of a community that you can be proud of—a movement that cares for each page throughout its story.

We all have a role to play when it comes to the world we live in. At Steeped Coffee we hold these responsibilities with the utmost care, so you don't have to. Our Guilt Free Packaging takes every possible step to ensure that your sacred coffee rituals go unnoticed by the next generation. Each coffee bag is made of a non-GMO food grade biodegradable material that you can drop in your garden or toss in your green bin. Steeped Coffee boxes are made of recycled material that is fully recyclable. And each element of our packaging is utilizing every know innovation that we know about, while also preserving our coffee's quality and freshness. We'll keep doing our best, so by all means leave just your actual footprints wherever your journey takes you.

  7. Steeped collaborated with Hidden House coffee in Orange County so I had to try while visiting relatives for Turkey day. I loved the cup of coffee it produced. I personally think it is a better than freeze dried coffee. It is a easy albeit expensive way to bring great coffee with you while traveling! I hope to see more coffee roasters use this technology!
