IT COSMETICS Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ in Fair | Review and Swatches

Purchased (Affiliate Links)

I resisted purchasing IT COSMETICS Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ for a very long time because I don't use full coverage foundations, and I also tend to try to avoid overly-hyped products. That said, I have been very impressed by the products that I have tried from the brand, and I decided to try it during the recent Sephora VIB event.

I purchased IT COSMETICS Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ in Fair sight unseen online, and luckily I chose the right shade for my cool-toned skin. I immediately noticed that this CC Cream is decidedly full coverage, but it has a natural finish and an SPF of 50, and therefore I thought that it might work for me– despite my penchant for light coverage foundations. It is formulated for sensitive, normal, dry, combination and oily skin types, and therefore the formula posed no issues for my normal-combination skin, and it has never caused me to break out.

I have to confess that the notion of slathering Snail Secretion Filtrate on my skin creeped me out initially, but the fact that it is a cruelty-free brand took some of the ick out of this purchase. My primary concern was that the full coverage formula would feel heavy, and therefore detectable, on my skin, and thankfully that is not the case– otherwise I would have altered the consistency by adding an oil or a lotion to it, and if that didn't achieve my goal effectively, then I would have returned it to Sephora (something that I really try to avoid).

This CC Cream definitely covers everything, but the natural finish looks, well, natural. I don't feel as though I am wearing something heavy or artificial looking, and my skin doesn't feel strangled, but instead feels as though it has some breathing room. It has buildable coverage, if you wish to conceal any particular areas, and it neither settles into fine lines and pores, nor does it emphasize them in any way. I find that it wears all day long, and it never looks cakey and it doesn't crease, pool or flake. I also find it hydrating, thanks to the many skincare ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and a wide variety of natural oils, but it does, however, contain a variety of silicones toward the top of the list of ingredients. This does, at least in part, account for its lovely velvety-creamy texture, but if you keep clear of silicone-based facial products then you will definitely want to skip this CC Cream. I am, quite frankly, surprisingly pleased with this product, and somehow thought that it wouldn't really impress me, but it does, and I am quite happy with my purchase. I find that I can apply and blend it with my fingers, but I also use a variety of synthetic brushes or a beauty blender sponge, and all three methods work well for me. I am also exceedingly happy that it includes an SPF 50– particularly since I do not walk outdoors wearing anything less than an SPF 30. Of course you do need to reapply sunscreen throughout the day to maintain protection, but that is something that I do anyway.

    1. Hi Cristy, It is a really good CC Cream, but it is definitely full-coverage and heavier than the other BB and CC Creams that I have used. I definitely dislike the feeling of heavy and thick foundations too– it makes me feel like my skin can't breathe. Thanks for stopping by! xx

  2. I've been using this for years. The best deal is when QVC has it in a TSV. I usually use a dampened Beauty Blender or sometimes a dampened Artis brush. A little goes a long way.

  3. I've been wearing this or the one in Light or the two of them mixed together for years, but lately I have abandoned them for the Bye Bye Foundation in Fair/Light because the shade suits me better

    1. I remember you reviewing them and saying that your best match came from mixing those two shades. I will have to swatch their Bye Bye Foundation next time that I am at Sephora. Do you like the formula as much?

  4. I've found my HG CC cream in the matte version of this. I have dry skin and do NOT like matte foundations, but it has a nice glow to it. Go figure!

    1. Wow, I am surprised to hear that the matte versions is your HG, Cindy! I don't like matte foundations at all, so I instinctively avoided theirs, but now that you have said this, I will have to go and swatch it!

  5. I tried this in the past and didn't like how it looked on my skin. I looked so greasy but back then, my skin was really oily to begin with

  6. I still haven't tried this, but I'm working on purging/finishing foundations, so I may just pick it up as a reward.

  7. I have also just tried this product, after many years of considering it. I'm really impressed by how natural it looks on my skin. I hope they improve the shade range though. I'm using light at the moment and it's alright with my summer tan, but it will be too dark in the winter. I'm warm toned so I don't think fair would work.

    1. I agree, I am very impressed by it, but also think that they should increase their shade range!
