Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow and Love is the Drug #CHARLOTTETILBURY | Review and Swatches

 Purchased (Affiliate Links)

That I have a penchant for gorgeous, glimmering pink blushes is perhaps something of an understatement, and my collection has grown considerably over the last few years. My latest blush obsession is from none other than Charlotte Tilbury, and the timing of this review couldn't be more perfect since the Makeup Wars! Team has sought to feature our favorite blushes for the spring. I wanted to narrow my choice down to one, but I am so transfixed by the beauty of both Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow and Love is the Drug that I had to select both.
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blushers feature an outer ring (Swish Shade) that encircles a center ring (Pop Shade) that boast contrasting, complementary colors. While you can use the blush however you see fit,  Charlotte Tilbury suggests the following method:

1."SWISH the brush around the outer shade & tap off the excess. Run the brush flat, up the cheek bone starting from the apple of the cheek, to structure your face."

2. "POP the shade by taking the pointy end of the brush, dip it in the centre color & tap off the excess. Apply to the apples of your cheeks to make them pop & glow, then blend seamlessly together."
Charlotte's Tip: "Always apply your blusher at the end of a makeup look so you can see how much color you need. Use Wonderglow face primer throughout the day, dotted on your cheekbones to revitalize your complexion."
Left to Right: Love is the Drug and Love Glow
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow ($40.00 and £30.00 for 0.28 oz. / 8g from Charlotte TilburyNordstromBeautylishNet-A-PorterBergdorf GoodmanHarrod'sBloomingdale'sSelfridges and Cult Beauty): Love Glow is an ethereal pearlescent pink blush that is ultra-finely milled with a luscious creamy texture. It glides across the skin effortlessly, deposits color evenly, and it neither settles into pores, nor does it emphasize fine lines. Instead it imparts a gorgeous youthful glow from within, and the shimmer isn't so pronounced as to look unnatural or overdone. It is a perfect daily blush for a stunning natural flush, but it is buildable should you prefer a bit more pigmentation. I either use Charlotte Tilbury's Swish & Pop method, or I simply sweep my brush across both shades for a beautifully blended shade. I get all day wear out of a single application, but my cheeks are not in the least bit oily, and my blushes tend to wear most of the day, without a primer, to begin with. If, however, you have particularly oily skin, then you will probably want to use a primer for enhanced longevity.

According to Charlotte Tilbury,

Darlings, I always seek to recreate that shimmering, youthful glow of when you’re in love! My Cheek to Chic blusher in Love Glow is a creamy, color-rich texture, perfect for enlivening dull skin. This combination is a pretty pearlescent pink to achieve that limitless glow!

Features:

• Light Flex Technology captures light & re-emits it for a luminous complexion
• Color-rich pigments are rolled into finely crushed pearls that smooth & buff the skin for excellent blendability & perfect color uniformity.
• The formula is buildable for the perfect, healthy, even glow.
• This product is gluten-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and not tested on animals.
Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Isononyl Isononanoate, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Dimethicone, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Zinc Stearate, Carprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethiconol, Hexylene Glycol, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Silica, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Tin Oxide (Ci 77861), [May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77491, CI 77499), Carmine (CI 75470), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 6 (CI 15850), Yellow 5 Lake (19140)].
Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love is the Drug ($40.00 and £30.00 for 0.28 oz. / 8g from Charlotte TilburyNordstromBeautylishNet-A-Porter,Bergdorf GoodmanHarrod'sBloomingdale'sSelfridges and Cult Beauty): Love is the Drug is stunning cool toned shimmering pink pearlescent blush that is ultra-finely with a luscious creamy texture, just like Love Glow. It glides across the skin effortlessly, deposits color evenly, and it neither settles into pores, nor does it emphasize fine lines. It imparts a gorgeous youthful glow from within, but the pigmentation is more assertive than Love Glow because the Pop shade is a vibrant and highly saturated mid-tone blue-based pink. The shimmer offers dimension, without being too pronounced, unnatural or overdone. It can be sheered out for a beautiful natural flush, or it can be built up for dramatic impact. I either use Charlotte Tilbury's Swish & Pop method, or I simply sweep my brush across both shades for a beautifully blended shade. As is the case with Love Glow, I get all day wear out of a single application, but as noted my cheeks are not in the least bit oily, and my blushes tend to wear most of the day, without a primer, to begin with.

According to Charlotte Tilbury,

The first swatch for each blush features the outer ring (Swish Shade) followed by the center ring (Pop Shade), and then the two shades blended.
The swatches below are taken in the shade for more contrast in order to show the shimmer in dimmer lighting.
Overall Assessment: I am absolutely crazy about Love Glow and Love is the Drug, and am so pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend these blushes, and think that you will be very impressed by the quality.

  2. We are at last getting a Charlotte Tilbury counter at Nordstrom. The new counter manager will hire my sister for freelancing if they have events. I can't wait for that since my sister is an incredible artist and at last I'll be able to pick up the right products. I can definitely see why you had to share both of these since they are just gorgeous. Love Glow is my first choice and with a $20 Nordstrom reward sitting on my desk it's going to be hard to resist.

  9. How about an overall assessment being, when swirled together, they look the exact same?

    1. LOL! Well, with a light hand that is certainly true that they look a lot alike! However, Love is a Drug can be much more intense, if one chooses to use more of the pop color in the center, The true cannot be said of the fairly light Love Glow.
