Do You Trim Your Tresses Between Salon Visits?

I do! Whether you trim split ends, or try your hand at trimming your bangs, it makes a huge difference to have the appropriate shears for the job. Put away your kitchen shears and sewing sheers, and invest in hair shears if you routinely snip a little here and there. Given that I have naturally curly hair, I have some latitude since curly locks can conceal a multitude of sins, but the difference between using regular scissors and hair shears cannot be sufficiently underscored.
Cricket Shear Xpressions ($44.99 from Cricket Co and Sally Beauty): These comfortable to use shears put what I was using before to shame. The economic design coupled with the high quality materials and sharp edges make using these shears effortless.

According to Cricket Co,

Shear Xpressionsfeature an ergonomic offset design spacing between the finger and thumb rings that stabilizes your hand and reduces cramping. The comfort silencer avoids the metal on metal sound and allows for a smooth cutting stroke. Made of high-quality Japanese stainless steel which prolongs edge sharpness for increased durability and performance. Removable finger rings allow for a customizable comfort fit and the removable finger rest provides added support and can be easily removed.

Available in 3 stylish color combinations: Hey Rosie (shown), Minty Fresh and Greyzilla.

Features:

Japanese Stainless Steel: High quality stainless steel prolongs edge sharpness for increased durability and performance.

Cricket Ultra Smooth™ Coconut Comb Collection ($5.99 each from Cricket Co and Sally Beauty): These combs, which are infused with Coconut Oil and Keratin Protein, effectively reduce frizz, smooth unruly hair, and add shine. Furthermore, they do not leave hands or surfaces greasy or oily.

According to Cricket Co,

Each comb has been infused with hydrating Coconut Oil and Keratin Protein to help promote healthier looking hair with improved manageability and shine.
  • A blend of Coconut oil and Keratin protein infused plastic, glides through hair
  • Helps add shine and smoothness to hair
  • Reduces the appearance of frizz
  • Will not leave residue on hands
Overall Assessment: These hair tools are definitely worth your consideration, and if you cheat on your hairdresser between salon visits– then these shears are really good to have on hand.

  3. This looks like a great hair tool. I have straight hair so I have to be so careful that I don't screw up. Love the idea of the combs too.

    1. It really is a great hair tool. It is a much more tricky proposition if you have straight hair, and I doubt that I would be so bold if mine were straight instead of crazy curly. My hairdresser definitely does a much better job than I do, but sometimes I just can't stop myself from taking a touch off of the ends. The combs are really awesome!

  4. Oh no, I'm not brave enough to tackle trims on my own! But these look handy for those with a steadier hand!

    1. They are definitely handy to have! My curly hair is very forgiving, and you actually can't really tell when I clean up the ends a bit!

  6. I don't go to the salon because my hair is so long that they charge me an arm, leg and boob to get my hair trimmed. I will go once every two years if I really want to layer my hair more or give it a little different look. But, otherwise, I trim at home consistently myself. My uncle was a hair dresser and taught my dad so I am glad I have some kind of help that way. I need to pick up that sheers... it looks like a winner along with the combs.

    1. If I had your beautiful straight hair, I definitely wouldn't either for fear that I would do something awful. However, my crazy curly hair is far more forgiving!

  10. One of each would be amazing! I have a borrowed (that might be code for stolen from my dad) pair of hair cutting scissors that I use for trimming my ends and what not, but those are so much cuter.
