Milo Needs Your Thoughts and Good Vibes

Please send your love and healing energy to Milo. The day before yesterday he displayed a radical shift in behavior. He simultaneously began hiding, and stopped eating. We immediately took him to the vet for diagnostic tests, and they loaded him up with fluids. His lighter eating habits, after his IBD diagnosis, has placed him in the beginning stages of Fatty Liver Disease. If he does not eat is prognosis is very, very grim. Our trusted vet, of many years, suggested that our only move right now is a temporary feeding tube to reverse this condition.  My poor baby, who is a very sensitive Siamese, spent the night at the vet's last night to be pumped full of fluids and food, and today is his surgery.  He needs your love, and to be in your thoughts. Not only would it be a devastating blow if we lost our little prince, but I do not know what Lola (shown below with her brother) would do without her him since they have been intensely bonded since the womb. I am picking him up at some time today, and will keep you posted. xoxo, Helen

    1. Thank you so much! The surgery was a success, and he came home last night. We are trying to get used to giving him food through the feeding tube, but if things go as planned– then it will be removed in a couple of weeks, and the Fatty Liver will be resolved. It's still quite stressful and upsetting, though!

    1. Thank you so much, Lulubelle– I really appreciate it! So far so good. The surgery was a success, and he is home as of last night. The feeding tube is a bit unnerving to deal with, but I suppose that one does get used to it.

    1. Thank you Lizzie! He's home as of last night, and he looks much better than he did two days ago. Hopefully the feeding tube will do everything that it's supposed to, and he will get better soon. Lola seems to be freaked out by Milo since the feeding tube makes him look a bit like an alien, and because he smells like the hospital. She is being very clingy with me, and won't let me out of her sight!

    1. Thanks, BooBoo! I really appreciate all of your support! Keep squeezing Nikita! Milo came home last night, and he definitely looks better than he did two days ago. The feeding tube has me pretty freaked out, but I suspect that I will get used to it, and the fact that it is the only thing that will save his life means that I have to embrace it! <3

    1. Thank you!!!!!! I do too! He came home last night, and we have a long road ahead, but the feeding tube will definitely save him from this health crisis. I just hope that this doesn't mark the opening of the Pandora's Box with respect to his health! I hope that you are doing well!

  11. I've gone through injuries and deadly disease with paired cats and it is just the most stressfully emotional thing, especially when it goes on and on. I'm glad to hear your pets have such a lovely owner who has been taking amazing care of them!
