Clarins Eclat Minute Instant Light Natural Lip Protector in Nude Shimmer 03 | Review

I am fanatical about lightly-tinted hydrating glosses and balms, and one of my favorite formulas is the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. This lovely product resides somewhere between a balm and a gloss, it smells like a delectable variant of Crème Brûlée, and it imparts a gorgeous shimmering shine. The consistency is that of a soft gel that melts into the lips and has the perfect amount of cushion for comfortable wear. The formula is nourishing and moisturizing, and lips are left soft, supple, smooth and hydrated.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Protector in No. 03 Nude Shimmer is a warm peachy nude shimmer that imparts a soft, nearly translucent, veil of color and sparkly. It is immensely flattering on the lips, and lasts on me for a few hours.
According to Clarins,

A softly textured lip gel with a deliciously sweet scent and 3D shimmer. Experience the lusciously smooth, shiny and fuller lips you've always dreamed of. Sheer, but shaded enough to wear alone or to complement your favorite lip shade. For smoother, more luscious, kiss-me lips! Apply alone or over lipstick.
Ingredients: Paraffinum Liquid/ Mineral Oil/ Huile Minerale, Diisostearyl Malate, Hydrogenated Styrene/Isoprene Copolymer, Ozokerite, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)- Dipentaerythrityl Tetrahydroxystearate/ Tetraisostearate, Polyethylene, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene.

Overall Assessment: I have several other colors, and definitely want more shades! I love the formula, the twinkling shine, and how well it nourishes and hydrates my lips.

  3. I've been hearing very good things about these for a while, particularly the fragrance. I want some of the deeper shades so they show up on me!

    1. The formula is fantastic, and I adore the scent, but it definitely won't appeal to people who want their lip products to be fragrance-free. They are definitely worth trying!

  6. If only it weren't fragranced like creme brulee I'd be all over it. I miss out on a lot of great Clarins because of their fragrance.

    1. Yes, sadly I think that the scent is a deal-breaker for you, Marcia. It's a pity though because the formula would really appeal to you!

  11. Sadly the instant light perfectors don't work for me. I don't like the smell and they create that gathered goo on the inside of my lips :( (yes, sorry for the nasty description, my dear)
I am ok here but still not entirely feeling at home. My semester starts at the end of August and I cannot wait to start reading and focusing my mind onto something else besides my own work which sometimes swallows me. I realized last night I have not been out of the house in 4 days because I fell into the arms of a few books and just couldn't let go. Today, even if it means to walk aimlessly, I'll venture out :)
Kitty paws will have to wait at least until next month since we haven't finished receiving/buying furniture and I want everything to be ready so as not to disturb the territory.
    Happy Thursday my gorgeous

    1. These are a definite miss for you!

It's still a bit early since you haven't been there long enough to really settle in. I think that it's actually great that you have spent the last four days in the arms of a few books. That is a nice way of settling into your new home, and once you have all of your furniture and your kitties, then you will be all set.

It is very easy to become completely swallowed up by your own work, and I have been procrastinating on that front lately. Plus summer school functions at such an advanced pace that I'm mentally fatigued without much in my reserves for my own work. Add to this that I have a couple of grads that I am working very closely with, and my efforts seem to be going toward my students more than directed at my work. You have a lovely Thursday too! <3 <3

  12. The shade is really pretty. I think overall that would be something interesting to try and I think the packaging is convenient, but can be a butt to clean - like my Melted from Too Faced.

    1. I agree with you about the color. It's exactly the same type of applicator tip that they use on Too Faced uses on the Melted Lippies. I just tend to wipe them off with a clean tissue, but that isn't a perfect solution. I wonder how effective it would be to clean it off with alcohol periodically?
