Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush in Feather | Review and Swatches

Press Sample (Unaffiliated Links)

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush in Feather is a stunningly beautiful and ethereal peachy blush that is ultra-finely milled, deposits pigment evenly, and is an absolute dream to use. This is one of those outrageously gorgeous blushes that has a beautiful otherworldly sheen that gives skin the much sought after natural glow from within. The color is buildable, but can be sheered out to reveal a striking luminosity and gentle flush. The creamy powder formula neither settles into fine lines, nor does it accentuate pores. The formula is long wearing and so outstanding that it is now my most reached for blush. I think that it is safe to say that I  need a few more colors (hello pinks)– including their Dollskin Blush Duos!

According to Tarina Tarantino,

This silky powder blush, imparts skin with a natural glow with true color payoff that wears all day long! This formula has micronized powders (also known as “HD” or “High Definition”) which blend over skin evenly and easily and 5 shades with buildable color allows for complete custom coverage for every skin tone!
The ethereal peachy goodness is punctuated by a lovely shimmering sheen

A longtime reader asked if I could suggest a gorgeous peachy blush that resembles Tom Ford Frantic Pink or Hourglass Electra without sacrificing quality. The answer, without question, is Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush in Feather. Of the three, it is the one that I find myself reaching for the most right now!
Without question, Feather is peachy perfection, and is well worth having.

    1. Feather is definitely the perfect shade for you, Allison! The quality is amazing, and I can't believe that it is on sale for only $12.00!

  2. I discovered TT when it first appeared in the local Sephora. I was looking for a warm brown eyeliner pencil and the SA told me to check out Puppeteer. Despite the brand's bedazzled packaging which was geared towards teenagers, I was astounded by the excellent quality of the products. Blushes, eyeshadows, and eyeliner pencils--I loved them all and thought that the buttery smooth texture, silky finish, true to pan pigmentation, and long wear time was right up there with some of the best high end brands. I was saddened when the brand never seemed to gain traction and was eventually pulled from Sephora. I often wonder what the marketing issues were because one thing for sure--the problem wasn't with the products. And yes, I have Feather :-)

    1. I am not at all surprised that you know the wonders of Tarina Tarantino products, and that you have Feather. I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly. The quality of their products are utterly exquisite. I wish that TT was still stocked at Sephora as well. The line definitely stands up against expensive luxury brands! Their current sale makes this the perfect time to stock up!

  4. Wow, all three are really close in color/finish! I've been shopping my own stash recently instead of acquiring new blush, as I know I've already probably got close dupes to anything I would purchase anyhow. I've got the Dollskin palette but haven't used it in a while, must break it out again. I do remember Feather was the one I used the most :-)

    1. Remarkably so! Such a wise woman for shopping your own stash! If you need anything from TT, though– this is definitely the time to shop since everything is 50-60% off! I'm so glad that you have that gorgeous Dollskin palette– I would definitely pull it out and enjoy it, if I were you! Feather is just stunning!

  5. Are you saying you like this better than the Ambient LIghting blushes? Please compare because the Ambient Lighting was on my 'list'. Thanks.

    1. I love the Ambient Lighting Blushes, and adore the Ambient Lighting Palette. I do think that the Tarina Tarantino blush quality is absolutely on par with luxury brands. I wouldn't give up my Tom Ford, Hourglass or any others, but I definitely want more Tarina Tarantino! The line is phenomenal!

  6. So, would this blush combined with the Ambient Lighting palette (I just ordered) be the equivalent of using the Ambient Lighting blush? I was thinking the Ambient blushes were kind of a combination of blush and the effect of the lighting palette but in one step rather than two. Am I correct? Or is there 'more' to the difference? Thanks!

    1. You could probably come up with a similar effect. The trick would be to mix Incandescent Light from the Palette with Feather, and then I think that you could achieve a similar look. That said, Tarina Tarantino's Feather by itself is quite close to Hourglass Incandescent Electra. Yes, you are correct that Hourglass mixes their Ambient Lighting powders to the pigments that they choose for their Ambient Blushes! I think what makes theirs different is that they are integrated with their blushes and swirled together. Each one is different depending on how much of each is swirled together. That doesn't mean that you can't blend your own blushes with tier Ambient Lighting Powders to customize your own,

  7. I've always wanted to try the brand, but I used not to have any access to it! A while ago I found out it is now available on Beautybay tho. This review couldn't have come at a better time!

  8. Now that I look at this again, I think Feather is too orange for me. It might not be, but.... As for using the lighting powder with blush, I was just thinking of slapping on the blush and the ambient lighting powder on top of it. Is that not the way to do it? I confess to a lack of skill......

    1. You might find it a touch too warm, but I am able to pull it off in the same way that I can with the other two swatches above. It somehow cools down a touch on my skin. You can certainly use it that way, or you can use my preferred method of dipping the brush into both and tapping it off and then blending it directly into the skin. Try both methods to see which one works best for you.I like to play with color so I often do lots of mixing before i apply to the skin.

  9. I have an order sitting in my cart for Neiman Marcus and this reminded me I wanted a TF Blush! I think I'll get Frantic Pink is looks gorgeous!

    1. Frantic Pink is one of my most used blushes, and that and Wicked army two favorites from Tom Ford. Plus missing them together is stunning! I actually did a post about it:

  11. I wear TT Parasol all the time, I'm wearing it today as a matter of fact. It's a little more pinky but it's not pink. It was my favorite blush for 2014 on my blog and it feels like it could be again! Don't forget that Hautelook often carries Tarina Tarantino. I buy it from there mostly.

    1. I remember you featuring it, and I have wanted that one ever since! A little more pinky is perfect for me! I will definitely keep an eye out for their next Hautelook sale, but right now Tarina Tarantino's 50-60% off sale is pretty hard to beat!
