Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Native and Rush | Review and Swatches

 Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

I love using lip pencils because they add definition to the lips, increase the wear-time of lipsticks, and can help alter the hue of slightly off colors. Finding a high quality of lip pencil that is neither too hard, nor too soft can be challenging. Furthermore, finding the perfect formula with the perfect array of colors to choose from can be even more difficult.

I have a huge cup full of lip pencils, but my recent discovery of Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils has resulted in my devotion to them, and my neglect of all of the others!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil glide on effortlessly, never pull or tug on the lips, and they deliver beautiful pigmentation. They are creamy-dreamy to use, and they are remarkably long wearing and non-drying.

According to Urban Decay,

This Lip Pencil glides on smoothly, stays creamy, and keeps lipstick, gloss, and stains from feathering out of bounds. Just like Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, their Lip Pencils are guaranteed to last. They also contain jojoba oil, vitamin E, and cottonseed oil to nourish the skin and provide a smooth application. Go ahead and have another sip of your cocktail—the formula is waterproof, but never feels dry or cakey. It's the perfect complement to Urban Decay lipsticks, stains, and glosses.
I picked up two shades: Native and Rush

Native is a beautiful pale pink that is perfect for a nude pink lip.
Rush is a stunning pink-mauve with soft pearl that has a gorgeous complexity and depth.
Top to Bottom: Native (a pale pink) and Rush (a pink-mauve with soft pearl)
Top to Bottom: Native (top two swatches) and Rush (bottom two swatches)
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Polybutene, Synthetic Wax, Isododecane, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Ceresin, Ozokerite, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline), Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: CI 77019 (Mica), CI 77891 (Titanium Dixoide), CI 77491/77492/77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake).
Overall Assessment: Amazing quality lip pencils that are creamy perfection. They stand up against the most expensive luxury brands at a fraction of the price. Urban Decay has a lovely selection of colors to chose from, and there isn't a bad one in the bunch. I will definitely be picking up more colors!

  1. I like Native and since I have the lipstick should look into this. I am not in the habit of using liner daily and I need to get that habit going.

  3. Oh, I love the shades you chose, Lola! They are among my favorite hues! I use the eye pencils from UD all the time but I've never tried the pencils. Next time there's a UD sale, I will! Thank you for a great review :)

  4. I love Rush. For me, it is a MLBB color and so it acts as a "natural" lip definer. For a no fuss look, I use it to define my lip line and then I blend the color out over my entire lip area. A bit of balm and I'm good to go--only much, much improved! LOL My only complaint is that the wear time isn't the greatest on me and, because it is so close to my natural lip color, it's not long until my lips look naked once again. The beautiful color is definitely worth the reapplication effort, though.
