EveryDay Shea Moisturizing Body Wash in Vanilla Mint Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

EveryDay Shea Moisturizing Body Wash in Vanilla Mint is a refreshing and exhilarating body wash that not only leaves skin soft, supple and moisturized, but also is fantastic for shaving. While it is very emollient and moisturizing it leaves behind no residue, and it does an excellent job thoroughly cleansing the skin without stripping it in the least.

The heat has been stifling in Los Angeles this week, and the only comfort found seems to be in well air-conditioned interior spaces, but I have found that EveryDay Shea Moisturizing Body Wash in Vanilla Mint leaves my skin refreshed and at least temporarily cooled down. They also have Lavender and Unscented versions, but right now Vanilla Mint is the perfect scent for this sweltering heat. I have used the Unscented version as well, and love it. My next purchase, however, is the Lavender version, but if you are sensitive to scents then I would suggest the Unscented version. Furthermore, if you are gluten sensitive then try the Unscented or Lavender versions instead of the Vanilla Mint Body Wash.

According to the company,

Our EDS Body Wash is a blend of aqueous neem leaf extract, traditional shea butter soap, and mild plant based surfactants. Together, these ingredients form a natural body wash that foams well and cleans completely without stripping skin's natural oils. EDS Moisturizing Body Wash is plant based, SLS free, gluten free and made without animal testing.

Available in three natural scents:
  • Unscented - no added essential oils or scents.
  • Lavender - scented with pure Lavender (Lavendula grosso) essential oil from France.
  • Vanilla Mint - scented with pure, natural vanilla extract from Malagasy vanilla beans (from Madagascar) and spearmint oil distilled in Eugene, Oregon.
For those customers that are gluten sensitive, we recommend our Unscented & Lavender body washes since they are gluten free. Our Vanilla-Mint body wash is not verified to be gluten free.

To Use: "Squeeze body wash onto a wet loofah, scrub or wash cloth and work into a lather on body. Rinse. May also be used as a hand wash."

Key Ingredients: "Aqueous Neem Leaf Extract - wide range of properties promoting skin health.
Shea Butter Soap - made with 60% shea butter and 40% virgin coconut oil, shea butter provides moisture, coconut provides lather."

Full Ingredients: Aqueous Neem Leaf (Azadirachta indica) Extract, Handcrafted Shea Butter Soap (Saponified Shea (Butyrospermum parkii) Butter and Virgin Coconut (Cocos nucifera) Oil), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sucrose, Essential Oil and/or Vanilla Extract (in scented versions only).

About EveryDay Shea:

EveryDay Shea is an extension of Alaffia Sustainable Skin Care. Alaffia was founded by Olowo-n’djo Tchala, a Togolese native, as a way to generate funds to conduct community enhancement projects in his home country and other West African nations in order to reduce poverty and gender inequality. Olowo-n’djo believes that Africans can mobilize their natural resources in a sustainable manner to empower their own communities, and that this is a more sustainable avenue towards reducing poverty than waiting for outside aid or for corrupt governments to fall. Alaffia and the Alaffia Shea Butter Cooperative were founded in order to trade the indigenous resource – Shea Butter – in the West to raise proceeds which are then returned to Togo in the form of community projects.

EveryDay Shea is a continuation of this philosophy. EveryDay Shea is a value line product that is price-sensitive during this economically difficult time. It provides a way for health-conscious families in the West to afford clean, petroleum-free body lotion, while at the same time keeping the Alaffia cooperative members employed in Togo.

Overall assessment: An amazing product from an amazing company! I have been buying Alaffia products for a very long time, and that won't be changing!

Price: $13.99-$14.29 for 32 oz. Available from Everyday Shea, Whole Foods & Amazon. (Affiliate Links).

  1. We use the EveryDay bubble bath for my son, we love it. It comes in a HUGE bottle, a little bit makes a lot of bubbles and the scent is very comforting. I wish I can use it for myself (we don't have adult-sized bath tub in our bathroom :-D).

    1. Hi Claire!
The EveryDay bubble bath sounds fantastic-I can't believe that I haven't tried it yet! I have used so many products from Alaffia over the years, but clearly needed to add that to my grocery list! I find their products to be very comforting in general, and a lovely bubble bath sounds divine (or at least when it isn't quite so hot outside :). Thanks for the lovely recommendation! BTW-- I love the inspiration for the name of your blog-- I remember that House episode with Wilson's quiet chicken! I LOVED that show! :D

    2. LOL I thought we were the only ones who watch Wilson & his quiet chicken :-) The EveryDay Shea bubble baths actually made for children, so it should be on the baby/children isle of Whole Foods/where EveryDay is sold. It comes in lavender/lemon (which we love) and mint, I think. Definitely a must try for the value & quality.

    3. That was a fantastic episode, indeed! The lavender/lemon sounds scrumptious-- that 's the one that I will have to get. Thanks for letting me know that it is in the baby/children section at WF! The quality and value for the EveryDay line is just amazing! :D

  2. it's very affordable for that size! thanks for the review!! :)

    1. It really is an amazing deal for the size, and you just can't beat the quality! You just can't go wrong with anything that Alaffia makes! Have a lovely weekend! :-)
