Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream Review

According to Mario Badescu,

Using an eye cream twice daily is essential for younger-looking skin and for keeping lines and wrinkles at bay. Mario Badescu's easily absorbed hyaluronic acid formula helps lock in the skin's own natural moisture without the use of heavy, greasy oils. Absorbent, medium weight cream for use day or night. Aloe based formula makes this cream suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.

HOW TO USE: Pat a small amount of cream around and under eye area using the ring finger. Use excess eye cream around delicate lip area as an emollient treatment.

My experience: The Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is a lightweight non-greasy cream that sinks into the skin nearly instantaneously, and it immediately hydrates and moisturizes the delicate eye area. In fact, this is such an effective moisturizer/hydrator that I find myself reaching for it more than any other eye cream in my considerable stash, and I have about as many eye creams as does Nordstrom! The real key to the success of this eye cream is the fact that it does everything that I want in an eye cream without the difficulties associated with heavy and rich eye creams: namely their propensity to cause me milia, and their slow absorption time. My delicate eye area is not only left deeply moisturized, but fine lines are simultaneously plumped up, and my skin is left with a luminescent glow. For me, this eye cream reigns supreme, and it is proof positive that you don't need a rich and heavy formula to get real results.

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Polyglycerylmethacrylate (and) Propylene Glycol, Carnation Oil, Propylene Glycol (and) Water (and) Euphrasia Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth-20, Vegetable Oil, Aloe Vera, Polyquaternium-24 (and) Hyaluronic Acid.
Overall assessment: Another amazing product from Mario Badescu! If you are on the hunt for  a great eye cream- give this one a try. The price is a real eye opener as well-- I had to triple check to make sure that it really was only $18.00! You get a lot for so little-- it's pretty amazing, really.

0.50 oz for $18.00 from Mario Badescu and Nordstrom.

  1. I would like to try this for sure. Right now I am using the Shiseido Benefiance that I can only use at night because of its density. It's perfect for my dry eyes, however, I need something that sinks in immediately so I can use it under my make up every morning. Excellent!
    Have a wonderful week :)

    1. Hi wefadetogray!! I have heard great things about Shiseido Benefiance, but I fear that it might give me milia.me might have to try a sample one of these days. This Mario Badescu eye cream is light and lovely, but it also is very hydrating. I'm sure that you can get your hands on a sample to try out. The price is a great happy surprise as well! I do think that you will like it, and I think that it will provide enough moisture for you-- but trying a sample will let you know for sure.
You have a wonderful week as well! xoxox

  2. Would you say this cream mainly hydrates? I used the reviva labs eye cream which helped lift my hooded eyes but the effect lasts only so long as I use it. Any recs for a good moisturizing/non greasy eye cream that lifts?

    1. Hi Hannah, It is definitely a very hydrating eye cream, but I also note that it plumps fine lines and does a little lifting, but not a lot. Have you tried the Reviva Labs Firming Eye Serum? I can use it in lieu of an eye cream, or layered under, and it definitely has a more pronounced firming and lifting effect, plus it's affordable! Reviewed here:

I think that you will generally find with most topical products that the effects will only last as long as you use the product-- you will probably find that to be the case with this as well, but it's a wonderful product. It's definitely not at all greasy either! Keep me posted! :-)

  6. LOL! I made a bet with myself (for a packet of Smarties) before clicking through that this eye cream would contain aloe vera -- it seems every eye cream my wise and wonderful blog roll loves contains that stuff!

I'll be alone in my allergy-ridden freak corner with my chocolates, then :P

    1. Hi Kate!! I am sooooo thrilled that you are part of the Beauty Spotlight Team!!! <3
Wow, an allergy to aloe vera doesn't sound like any fun at all-- at least it's pretty easy to avoid. If I had to choose between chocolates and alow vera-- then bye bye aloe! :-)
