Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion Review

Press Sample (Affiliate Link)
Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion "is a non-drying, alcohol-free toner that cleans and disinfects dry and sensitive skin. Mild witch hazel formula removes pore-clogging debris, and anti-inflammatory seaweed and aloe extract soothe sensitive areas."

  • How to use: "Twice daily after cleansing, pat skin dry and apply lotion-dampened cotton by wiping in an outward direction until cotton comes up clean. Avoid eye area. Follow with moisturizer or night cream."

My experience: I should probably first state that I don't generally use a toner, and in large part because they tend to be alcohol-laden and as a result they generally dry out and strip my skin with regular use. However, Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion is a remarkably gentle and soothing non-drying alcohol-free toner- therefore I thought that it would be worth trying. While it is formulated with the needs of dry and sensitive skin in mind, I will say that it works wonders on my combination skin as well. It feels refreshing on the skin, and leaves it thoroughly clean, soft, balanced, and I have even noted that my skin feels hydrated after use. Additionally, it feels so refreshing on the skin that I find myself reaching for it twice a day for that reason alone! It has a fresh clean scent that quickly fades upon application- therefore the scent does not linger.

I have a deluxe sample that I store in my refrigerator and I use it chilled when the weather is hot, or whenever I need a little refreshing pick-me-up. It is so pleasant to use, and since it never dries or strips my skin I can use it whenever I feel the need or desire. One look at the short list of fantastic ingredients should inspire great confidence that it will soothe rather than strip the skin.

I don't generally get excited about toners, and in fact in my huge stash of skincare products I only have two (including this one). Therefore, it is a revelation for me to really think about a toner - let alone rave about one!

Ingredients: Deionized Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice) Gel,Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus) Extract,Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana Distillate), S eamollient (Algae Extract).

Overall assessment: Another staple from a fantastic line. This is an easy to use product with real results, and at an affordable price!

8 oz. $15.00 from Mario Badescu and Nordstrom. Also available in 16 oz. and 32 oz. (Affiliate link).

    1. Hi wefadetogray- I should have figured that you and I would be loving the same thing!!!!!! I am really smitten with this toner-- I never thought that I would say that about a toner! I just leave on of my deluxe samples in the fridge so that I can use it when I need to be refreshed or cooled down, but I store my big bottle in my bathroom cabinet. I don't know that I would use it this way all of the time-- because the cooling effect will inhibit serums and moisturizers from soaking in as easily (since they are encouraged to sink into warm skin more readily than cold skin).

I have not tried the SKII toner--hmmmm moisturizing and delicious-- might have to try that one out!!! Thanks sweetie@ Have a lovely evening!
