MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow Collection- SWATCHES OF ALL SHADES!!

MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow Collection ($17.50 U.S. /$21.00 Canada) Limited Edition. Available Thursday, July 19th at Nordstrom, and Thursday, and launching elsewhere on August 2nd.

Electrifying pigments fuse with high frost in 12 limited edition shades. From the moment your brush touches the lightweight formula, you’ll be wired into its sensational blending power. For a multi-dimensional pearly wash, try Superwatt—a shimmering taupe. Amp it up with Highly Charged’s vibrant purple, or shock with Fashion Circuit’s Kelly green. It’s luxe with a hue-rich colour charge…who wouldn’t want to be this Electric?

The texture of these shadows is spongy and sort of squishy, and reminds me of the type of texture found in the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Shadows in that way. These are nothing like the texture of the MAC Big Bounce Shadows. I only swatched them on my arm- so I can't say how long-wearing they are on the eyes. They are, however, nicely pigmented and spread very smoothly and evenly. Click to enlarge all photos. The last picture of swatches isn't as high resolution as the others because my camera was full and I has to use my iPhone instead, but the colors remain true nonetheless.

Love Power: Soft shimmering rose
Switch to Blue: Rich cobalt
Pure Flash: Pale champagne
Electroplate: Cool gunmetal grey
Highly Charged: Rich purple with pink pearl
Superwatt: Light shimmering taupe
Dynamo: Mid-tone coral
Blacklit Black: with multi-dimensional pearl
Brilliantly Lit: Bright acid yellow green
Infra-Violet: Mid-tone pink violet with blue pearl
Coil: Copper bronze
Fashion Circuit: Bright kelly green (it looks like a teal/turquoise to me)

    1. You are so very welcome, Miss L! The shades were all very gorgeous, and the texture was amazing-- but as I said I only swatched them on my arm so I have no idea how they wear on the eyes (or whether they crease etc.)

    1. Fashion Circuit is GORGEOUS, but alas-- I do not have the guts to leave the house in a color that bold!

    1. Hi MissAshDG- they are GORGEOUS!! I only felt the Infallible eyeshadows when they first launched- so I don't really remember the texture. If memory serves they felt a bit like a creamy loose powder, but definitely still loose. Please correct me if I am wrong-- it's been so long. MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadows, on the other hand aren't powders at all- they are much more of a spongy gel cream type consistency-- very much like the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre Luminous Longwear Shadows. They are liquidy the way the Big Bounce Shadows were, and they aren't dense the way Paint Pots are. They have a very springy texture. They feel fantastic to the touch-- I just hope that they stay put on the eye lids!

    1. I was really happy that I was allowed to take the pictures as well! There weren't any swatches online- so I wanted to get them up ASAP--I had been so curious and couldn't find any swatches- so I figured there were plenty of people like me out there dying to see these! Yes, I need Superwatt as well-- NO QUESTION!! I just hope that they don't crease, and that they have good wear-time!

    2. What I forgot to mention is the fact that these are housed in an old school MAC screw top little pot-- the way that the original eye shadows were packaged when MAC launched 1000 years ago! It will be nostalgic for everyone who knew MAC back then!

    3. I wasn't sure if that packaging was only for testers. Is the logo printed in the old school manner as well?

    4. As I understand it this is the standard packaging the they will be sold in as well. The sides of the screw off tops seemed a little deeper than the old tops for the individual eye shadow lids from yesteryear, but they are basically the same-- along with the clear plastic insert on top embellished with the same MAC logo (name). My greatest concern is whether they will wear well. I certainly hope it's not a mishap like the Big Bounce Collection was! Superwatt is beckoning me!

    1. Thanks, that's a really nice thing to say. I did it all myself- trial and error. The layout is mine, but the graphic skin is one of many offered by Blogger! Thanks again for saying such nice things! Have a lovely weekend!
