MAKE UP FOR EVER Sens'Eyes- Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser Review

It is no small secret that I am a great fan of MAKE UP FOR EVER products, and truthfully I have yet to be disappointed by a product from the line. I am particularly in love with MUFE's Aqua Eyes eye crayons, but not all eye makeup removers love its waterproof, fade-proof, and smudge-proof formula. Once you put on the Aqua liners they won't budge until removed. However, without the right make-up remover your eyes can turn into one hot mess before being able to remove every last bit.

For some reason I was late to discover MUFE's Sens'Eyes, and I couldn't tell you why. This really makes no sense given that I have used Aqua Eyes for years now, and I have pretty sensitive eyes. So during the Friends & Family event at Sephora I caved and bought a bottle-- at 20% off I figured it was time to try this much raved about product.

That it is specifically formulated for sensitive eyes, and to remove waterproof make-up seemed like the greatest possible combination of attributes. But still, for some reason I had doubts that it would work for me. I think that I somehow equated the ability to remove tenacious waterproof formulations with something harsh, rather than gentle. In fact, I was prepared to hate it-- expecting that my eyes would be burning and red, and that I would wake up the next day with swollen angry eyes. This has happened before from other makeup removers that made similar claims- so I just assumed that it would be the same situation again. Truthfully the only thing that really encouraged me to try it despite my misgivings from the get-go was the fact that I have found MUFE products to be consistently very high quality and wonderful to work with.

I made sure to use waterproof make-up the first time I tried Sens'Eyes to see how much rubbing, tugging and pulling was going to be necessary to get every last trace of make-up off- and much to my surprise and delight it removed everything with little to no effort. Literally one sweep and everything was gone. So it passed the first half of the equation with flying colors, but I was pretty sure that the price to pay for this efficiency was going to be stinging & burning red eyes, and that I would have to return it to Sephora. So I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited- and unbelievably my sensitive eyes weren't irritated and red. I'm still a bit surprised that it really delivered on all claims made. I thought that it would surely disappoint, but it delighted me instead!

Sens'Eyes is a mineral oil free gel formula that will remove the most stubborn eye and lip products. This includes removing the most stubborn staining matte lipsticks as well as waterproof eye makeup!

The only deal breaker I can foresee is that it contains parabens, and while that doesn't bother me- it will bother people who want to lead a paraben-free existence.

Overall assessment: I love this product and will continue to use it.
