While it does not irritate my fussy skin, it is a very good idea to patch test it to make sure that it works for your skin. It is always advisable to talk to your dermatologist before using an at-home sonic dermaplaning device to see whether this is a good choice for your skin, and I would never use a tool like this one without running it by my doctor first. For me, the result is soft and smooth skin, but I use a very light hand, and I don't use it too often. People with very sensitive skin, eczema, acne, skin rashes and other skin conditions should avoid dermaplaning. Misuse can irritate the skin, and therefore it is important to follow the directions exactly, and see if your dermatologist thinks that you are a good candidate for at-home dermaplaning.

Whamisa Fresh Cactus Moisturizing & Purifying Toner is an antioxidant-rich hydrating toner that soothes dry and dehydrated skin, relieves redness, heals irritation and leaves skin soft, moisturized and luminous, and it never strips or dries out my skin. It has a light and fresh green aroma, but it fades immediately. I follow with whatever moisturizer I am using that day, and my skin stays hydrated all day long. Whamisa Fresh is a cruelty-free brand, and this toner is Certified Vegan.

 

According to Whamisa Fresh,

A brightening and soothing facial mist featuring cactus fruit (prickly pear) and organic cactus extract. This cactus mist is a blend of 69% prickly pear extract and 30% organic prickly pear cactus extract to create a weightless veil that safeguards your skin from fine dust and dryness. Prickly pear fruit is excellent for hydrating, soothing, and revitalizing the skin with rich minerals, while cactus stem extract is great for relieving redness, improving complexion, and moisturizing the skin. Overall Assessment: I am quite impressed by the quality of Whamisa Fresh skincare, and this is a very nice toner, indeed.

Erno Laszlo Light Controlling Lotion

Erno Laszlo Light Controlling Lotion is among their iconic products that I began using at the age of 17. Throughout the years, it is among the products that I return to again and again. Originally intended for normal, combination and oily skin types, it is now marketed for all skin types. It does contain alcohol, and therefore if your skin is particularly dry, and you avoid alcohol-based toners, then this probably isn't the best choice for you. However, while it does contain alcohol, I do not find it drying for my normal skin. It is a gentle and effective toner that binds moisture to the skin, because of the glycerin, while it effectively exfoliates dead skin cells without stripping. It leaves skin glowing, balanced and smooth. It does contain a light fragrance, but I find it quite pleasant. Of course for me the scent is a familiar one that evokes many memories, and my visceral reaction to this product goes well beyond its efficacy. I am not suggesting that I am unable to determine whether it is any good, or whether I would enjoy it if I hadn't had such a long and enduring relationship with Laszlo products, but my history with this brand definitely plays a part in my reaction to their products. I will say that using them is like visiting a beloved friend that I have known since childhood, and that familiarity is very comforting. Bottom line, though, it is still a great toner.

Beyond Glow Botanical Skin Care Moisture Balancing Toner is a lovely new addition to my skincare routine, and while do not always use a toner this one is certainly worthy of regular use. It eliminates any soap residue or missed makeup after cleansing and it leaves skin soft, smooth and balanced. I have normal/combination skin that leans more normal than combination, and this toner did not leave my skin in the least bit stripped, dry or taut. In fact, my skin feels lightly hydrated and refreshed after use. It has a faint and pleasant fruity aroma, but it isn't in the least bit cloying or overpowering.

I have such a love for high quality rose infused skincare products, and Fleur & Bee Rose and Shine Rose Water Toner is my latest obsession. This beautiful toner, which contains distilled water and Rose Flower Oil, hydrates and nourishes the skin and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. The fine mist, which has the most delectable rose aroma, refreshes the skin and leaves it dewy and luminous. This spray also can be used to help set your makeup, and when refrigerated it gives skin a nice pick-me-up throughout the day!

I recently discovered the Japanese brand, Cure, and I am utterly enchanted by the ease of use, efficacy and high quality of their products (Reviewed HERE and HERE).

I use it as a spot treatment as needed on my nose and chin when they become congested, and on my t-zone when it is particularly active. It effectively draws out pimples and impurities, it removes dead skin cells and it absorbs excess oil.

It has a warm, creamy citrus aroma that utterly delights the senses. I love to apply it to dry skin and massage it for a few seconds before wetting my face to activate the oil- which turns into a creamy white emulsion with the introduction of water. It dissolves makeup, dirt and impurities, and it leaves skin hydrated, silky-smooth and radiant. Tip: I remove my eye makeup with a makeup remover beforehand so that I don't have a makeup mess all over my face during this phase of cleansing.
