Dr. Hauschka Soothing Day Lotion

Press Sample (Affiliate Links)

Dr. Hauschka Soothing Day Lotion is a wonderfully calming and soothing face lotion that is formulated for skin that is sensitive and prone to irritation, inflammation and visible redness. It has a very lightweight texture and it is fast absorbing– leaving behind no residue whatsoever. My skin can be sensitive, at times, but usually it isn't. However, I have found that this nourishing and hydrating lotion is indispensable after at-home peels and exfoliation since they can leave skin a bit irritated and red.

According to Dr. Hauschka,

Soothing Day Lotion helps soothe sensitive, reddened skin. Helps reduce the appearance of skin prone to enlarged capillaries (couperose). The silky-smooth texture offers the skin long-lasting protection throughout the day. The composition with premium botanical extracts and oils helps enliven the skin’s natural process of oil and moisture production and reduces tautness. Valuable extracts of rose, borage and lady’s mantle help support the skin and foster an even-looking complexion. The lotion goes a long way, glides on easily and is an ideal base for make-up.

For skin prone to redness and enlarged capillaries. Cruelty-free.

Directions: Each morning after cleansing and toning, apply evenly to the face, neck and décolleté. The lotion goes a long way, glides on easily and is an ideal base for make-up.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glycerin, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Borago Officinalis Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Hypericum Perforatum Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Glyceryl Citrate/Lactate/Linoleate/Oleate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Arachis Hypogaea (Peanut) Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Bran Extract, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Citronellol*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Benzyl Alcohol*, Eugenol*, Farnesol*, Limonene*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Galactoarabinan, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Cetearyl Glucoside, Hectorite, Sucrose Polystearate, Algin, Sodium Citrate, Xanthan Gum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Citric Acid. *from natural essential oils.

Overall Assessment: Whether you have sensitive skin prone to irritation and redness, or you like to have a calming and soothing lotion to use after peels and exfoliation, Dr. Hauschka Soothing Day Lotion is a worthwhile choice.

  1. The Day Lotion sounds lovely, and I'm glad to know about it. In the past, I tried a number of the Dr. Hauschka skincare products, and for me, most of the moisturizers were way too heavy. This one sounds promising!

    1. It really is quite lovely! It's funny that you should say that about the heaviness of most of their creams and moisturizers. My mom used their products a few years back, and she may still use a few of them, but I remember trying a couple of her creams, and they were way too heavy and rich for my combination skin. She has dry skin, and loved them, but they definitely weren't for my skin type! This one is light and lovely!

  2. I like that the brand doesn't gauche prices since a product like this could end up costing a lot more elsewhere.
