LifeCell BB Cream, Lip Plumping Treatment & All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment | Review

Press Sample (Unaffiliated Links)

I have to confess that I had never heard of LifeCell until a couple of my readers asked my thoughts about the line. Soon thereafter, I was offered LifeCell products to review, and I decided to give them a try, and I am glad that I did. LifeCell is an anti-aging line that boasts "dermatologist tested ingredients inspired by Nobel Prize Winning Science."
LifeCell All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment ($189.00 for 2.54 oz.): This lightweight, fast absorbing multipurpose moisturizer is fragrance-free, hypoallergenic and cruelty-free. In an effort reduce the appearance of wrinkles, LifeCell selected effective anti-aging ingredients, such as DMAE, Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C to deliver tangible results.

While I do not have any deep-set wrinkles, I do have some fine lines (mostly expression lines), and I did notice that they appeared softened and lifted after using LifeCell All-In-One Anti-Aging Treatment for a couple of weeks. Ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid definitely plump fine lines, but the light-reflecting microtechnology further enhances this effect by blurring lines and imperfections.

Furthermore, this multi-tasker delivers all-day lasting moisture for my normal/combination skin, and leaves it soft and supple. If you have deep wrinkles, I can't advise you as to the efficacy of this product, but I can say that I noticed a softening of my fine lines after a few weeks of use.

According to LifeCell,

LifeCell is a hydrating and lightweight all-in-one anti-aging treatment designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.... The anti-aging formulation of LifeCell delivers results you can instantly see within seconds of application. With help from microfillers and the incorporation of lightreflecting microtechnology to smooth and virtually eliminate the look of fine lines right before your eyes, while also mitigating the look of skin discolorations.

LifeCell BB Cream in Light ($47.00 for 1 oz.): I have always preferred the look and feel of tinted moisturizers and BB creams over full-coverage foundations. I like my makeup to enhance, rather than conceal, and whenever possible I prefer them to be infused with skincare ingredients that treat the skin.

LifeCell's BB Cream provides the perfect amount of hydration, nourishing ingredients and color correction. It leaves skin soft, supple, even-in-tone and protected from the sun. I also note a pronounced luminosity and a blaring of any imperfections.

According to LifeCell,

This hydrating Beauty Balm provides all day moisture, SPF 30 protection and enough coverage to reduce the appearance of imperfections. With its ultra-smoothing ingredients, it creates a velvety canvas by diminishing the appearance of pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone. This expert formula contains Green Tea extract to help reduce and alleviate redness for an extra healthy glow.

Great for all skin types including those with sensitive skin, these innovative formulas are designed to do it all: treat with high levels of active skincare ingredients; moisturize and smooth dehydrated skin; prime and perfect skin’s surface; camouflage and color correct the skin tone; and protect skin from the sun with SPF. They can be used as a last step for their skincare benefits or used on their own as an instant coverup.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Bentonite, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Caramel, Cetyl Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Cholecalciferol, Cyclomethicone, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Hexyl Laurate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Iron Oxides, Isocetyl Stearate, Melanin, Octyl Stearate, Polyethylene, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Propylene Glycol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Silica, Sodium Chloride, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Water (Aqua).
LifeCell Lip Plumping Treatment ($49.00 for .16 oz.): Over the years I have tried numerous lip plumping formulas, and have found many to be far too irritating for my lips. I am generally a bit wary to try lip plumpers for this reason– unless they specifically indicate that the formula is non-irritating.

I immediately noticed an increase in the volume of my lips with LifeCell Lip Plumper, and there was no discomfort, burning or tingling. Upon application I detected the slight scent of Cinnamon Oil, and I found it quite pleasant. It did, however, fade away entirely after less than a minute. The finish has a lovely sheen, and the color is a very sheer pink whose pigment is virtually indiscernible on the lips.

According to LifeCell,

LifeCell Lip Plumping Treatment is a non-irritating lip treatment designed to plump your lips and smooth wrinkles and fine lines. Our Lip Plumping Treatment’s star ingredient is the patented peptide complex Maxi Lip™.

MaxiLip topically increases oxygen in the skin, thus increasing blood flow to the area, leading to plumper lips temporarily and a lasting effect when used regularly. Skin needs oxygen to assist in the production of collagen, elastin and other elements necessary for a healthy skin condition. As we age the circulation in our capillaries deteriorates, thus decreasing the level of oxygen and nutrients reaching our skin cells.

Overall Assessment: I like what I have tried, and am now curious about a few of their other products. From what I can tell, you can only purchase their products through their website– therefore you can't test them out in a store which I know some of you really prefer.

  1. Interesting that we posted the lip plumper today. Lisa and I had to flip a coin to see who got the chance to review this great product. I lost!

    1. LOL! I know, I got your email notification that you had reviewed it as well! I have to go read it to see what Lisa thought. You know what was interesting, I thought of you while I was writing my review, and thought that the taste/scent was mild enough that it wouldn't bother you! Pretty funny that it was the same day!

  2. I like the look of that BB cream, though the shade would need to be medium or so to suit my skintone.

    1. The BB Cream is very nice. My guess is that the medium shade would be a good match for you, Renu.

  4. I'm new to this brand as well, but the anti-aging treatment sounds wonderful. Nothing is better for wrinkles (to prevent and treat) than retinol!

    1. I definitely think that it was a god decision to make the anti-agog treatment fragrance free. the lip plumper is very effective, and I really like it a lot! No need to get it, though, if you don't need a lip plumper! :-)

    1. It's a really great quality lip plumper, and without any of the stinging or discomfort that one experiences with many of the lip plumper on the market.

  12. I'm not sure if I missed reading it, but did you find that the lip plumper was sticky like a gloss? I always worry about that too. And, I'm like you - I'm all about a good BB or tint moisturizer, I'm also about light coverage for an even look then concealing... that's why I don't use foundation any longer and only BB's and Tinted moisturizers when I really need them :)

    1. Hi Honey, I do not find the lip plumper sticky– which is great because I tend not to be a big fan of sticky glosses– particularly since they are veritable magnets for hair! Exactly, I like light coverage tinted moisturizers, BB Creams and foundations that allow your skin to show through. I like to enhance it, not conceal it. Even with concealers, I prefer to allow my skin to peek through so that it doesn't seem caked on and artificial. <3
