Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture and Native | Swatches and Review

 Purchased by Me (Affiliate Links)

I have recently developed an obsession with Urban Decay's lip products, and their lipsticks have reminded me that I don't only have to covet my ultra luxury lipsticks with price tags to match. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no interest in abandoning my Tom Ford Lip Colors, but I have definitely made room for other loves as well.
Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick formula is absolutely obsession-worthy, and trust me when I tell you that I have completely fallen for these amazing lipsticks.

It is described as a "luxury lipstick that delivers intense color payoff plus creamy shine" and that is no overstatement. These creamy dreamy lipsticks boast exemplary pigmentation and full opacity in a single pass. They effortlessly glide across the lips and apply color evenly, and they neither settle into lip lines, nor do they bleed. The hydrating formula offers the perfect amount of cushion and comfortable wear, and there is no detectable scent or flavor. For such an emollient formula I am able to get about 4 hours of wear-time– a fact that I find quite impressive and pleasing.

According to Urban Decay,

Revolution Lipstick is rich, buttery lipstick at its best—with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), Revolution Lipstick glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of color. And with shades that range from gorgeous nudes to bold brights, there’s something for everyone.

Urban Decay’s Pigment Dispersion System gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, intense pigmentation, superior color dispersion, and extended wear. Maxi-Lip™ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. And a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft. The luxe, custom-designed gunmetal tube (lined in Urban Decay’s signature dark purple) looks so gorgeous, you’ll want to keep pulling it out of your bag.

  3. Rapture has been on my wishlist for quite some time now, but I've gone with shades that are a bit more wearable for work, to be practical. I own Rush and Love Lite. I enjoy them, but the formula isn't my favorite. I always have issues with the lipsticks dragging and tugging on my lips when I apply, but not too much where it is a real problem. I'm new to your blog, and I have to say THANK YOU so much for including the ingredients of products in your posts.

    1. Hi blushableme! Thank you for stopping by and commenting! Welcome! :-) Rush ad Love Lite are stunning! Couldn't you get away with wearing Rapture to work if you blotted it down and topped it with a lighter gloss? Interesting that the formula isn't your favorite. I wonder if your experience would improve if you applied a very thin veil of your favorite lip balm and then applied the lipstick? I imagine the that could mitigate the tugging and pulling for you.

It is absolutely my pleasure! I am so glad that you appreciate the inclusion of the ingredients! I always want to know, and assume that most people want to know what's in the products that they are contemplating! :-)

  6. I think I own both of these shades, and I must dig them out. Last year, I bought UD's holiday set of full size Revolution nudes & reds - either 6 or 8 full size lippies for about $50. What a deal! Love 'em!

    1. It's hard to branch out when we have such beloved favorites! I sometimes forget to look at other lippies that I actually love because they are easily overshadowed by my love for TF!!!! Liar is such a gorgeous shade, and I can just imagine how gorgeous it is on you!
