TOM FORD BEAUTY LIP COLOR MATTE COLLECTION FOR HOLIDAY 2014 | SWATCHES!

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte creates a powerfully sophisticated look of unadulterated color. Formulated with a luxurious, velvet matte finish, the Lip Color Matte smoothes comfortably onto the lips in a spectrum of richly pigmented hues from sensuous pink neutrals to alluring bolds.

Are you tempted by any of these lovely shades? So far, I'm getting Pink Tease, but I think that I will probably also get First Time and Pussycat.

  1. Thank you thank you thank you for the swatches, Helen! I'm liking Plum Lush a lot. Problem is I asked the local PR, and apparently these won't be available here TILL NEXT FEBRUARY... By then, I might want Flame instead because the plummy season is over ;)

    1. Hi Sunny! You are very welcome! Well, the good news is that Plum Lush isn't limited edition so you don't need to feel compelled to buy it when you won't wear it! Frankly, it seems ridiculous that you have to wait 4 months to get it! Flame is a gorgeous color and I really love those types of shades on you! :-)

  2. I tend to wear whatever colour I want regardless of the season, but I can tell that Autumn got me this year since my eye went straight for Plum Lush and Pussycat instead of First Time. Haha

    1. Hi rachlovespenguins! I tend to do the same thing-- I wear whatever I'm in the mood to wear! I know what you mean abut Plum Lush and Pussycat though! I'm not sure that I am going to be able to stop myself from buying First Time since it is one of the two limited edition shades though. I also need Pink Tease in my life! Pussycat and Plum Lush are also calling my name. All of the colors are gorgeous, but those are the four that I know that I would actually wear with regularity! Let me know what you think about them if you cave! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

  3. I purchased Plum Lush for evening and Pink Tease for day. I have worn them both several times now and so far, they haven't dried out my lips the way other matte formulas do. Of course, I prep my lips very well before application--a real necessity once you reach my age. I particularly like Baume de Rose under these because it protects my lips without altering the effect of the lipstick. TF's matte formula is richly pigmented and has a soft lustre which prevents it from looking dry or flat like many other mattes do. It glides on like silk, feels like satin, and wears like iron :-)

By the way, for readers who haven't seen Flame in action, they should Google it. It is the color that the model is wearing in the promo picture. It's such a rich and bold statement-making color.

    1. What a gorgeous description, as always, Eileen! "TF's matte formula is richly pigmented and has a soft lustre which prevents it from looking dry or flat like many other mattes do. It glides on like silk, feels like satin, and wears like iron."

Baume de Rose is one of my very favorite go-to balms-- it is definitely a great choice beneath a matte lipstick. You are so right about the drying effects of the mattes of yesteryear! I remember wearing some years ago that felt a bit light slathering cement on your lips! Flame is definitely a stunning shade! :-)

    1. Absolutely my pleasure, J! It's hard not to want them all! I'm going to limit myself to 3, I think :-). Plus I want the eyeshadow creams that will be out next week (Platinum and Spice-- I missed them the first time around, and definitely don't want to during this repromote!). Have a lovely weekend! <3

  5. Pussycat looks like a pretty MLBB for me. I'd love to see the Pink Tease on you, it looks like a lovely pink, but it's so hard to tell what the lighter shades actually look like on the lips. I'm still wanting to try your loved Rouge G Gabrielle.

    1. Hi Pam, yes I think that is a fair description-- of course depending on the natural color of one's lips! It sounds like your lips are naturally rosy-- in which case I suspect that Pussycat will be a real winner for you. It is in the same color family as the Tom Ford Casablanca lipstick.

I do not yet have Pink Tease in my possession since I am waiting to pick it up when the limited edition eyeshadow creams are in next week. Michelle just usually grabs me everything that she thinks I will want or that she thinks will look good on me-- then we play with the colors together and decide what I end up going home with. OMG, the Rouge G in Gabrielle is just extraordinary! The formula is amazing, and the color is astoundingly beautiful. I want Gemma next! A good time to pick up the Rouge G Lipsticks is during the Sephora VIB sales-- it takes a lot of the sting out of that super high price tag! I sure wish that we could get such a deal on TF products!!! :-)

  6. Can't wait to see your swatches of Black Dahlia. I haven't quite been able to make the financial commitment to the Tom Ford price point but everyday I'm getting closer. I was away this past weekend and almost picked up an eye shadow quad but opted to spend my budget on the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette (after all, I did say it would be mine). :-)

    1. Me too, Kimmy! Though I don't think that I will buy it since I have Black Orchid and Bruised Plum, and while neither are dupes for Black Dahlia-- I don't find myself needing a third Tom Ford lipstick in an intense vampy shade. good call since the HG Ambient Blush Palette is LE! Are you loving it? :-)

  7. I was daydreaming about these this morning. I'm so glad to see your swatches. Pink Tease is the one I want.

    1. They are worthy of occupying daydreams! Yup, Pink Tease is a must-have! If I only end up with one-- that will be it, but I have a feeling that I might cave and get a few! First Time and Pussycat are both beckoning me as well!
