Lipstick Queen Sinner 90 Percent Pigment in Pinky Nude Review & Swatches

 Press Sample (Affiliate Links)
My penchant for pinky nude lipsticks has yet to be eclipsed by any other shade-- not just because they are gorgeous, but also because they are infinitely wearable and flattering on a variety of skin tones. The key is finding the right shade that has the wildly sought after natural appearance without entering the realm of the zombie-like pallor that is most often associated with the wrong shade of nude that drains the life force out of a face quicker than just about any other shade.
Lipstick Queen Sinner 90 Percent Pigment in Pinky Nude is a gorgeous shade that is described as "a pretty and subtle pink take on nude." While objectively an apt description, I would add that Pinky Nude, with its full opacity coverage, is a perfectly balanced nearly mid-tone pinky peachy nude. It is gorgeous, comfortable on the lips, long-wearing, and moisturizing. It has the perfect amount of cushion and clings to the lips for hours of even wear. When it does fade, it does so evenly and naturally. While it offers full opaque coverage, blotting it down creates a stunning barely-there wash of color.
According to Poppy King, "I wanted to create the exact type of vintage glamour I was looking for in a lipstick but with modern touches."

Poppy designed Sinners to be the ultimate full-coverage matte lipsticks with 90% pigment. The Sinner formula takes creaminess to a whole new level. The formulation glides on, lasts beautifully and feels great on the lips. Each shade has been meticulously designed to be the ultimate in its category - lighting up your face and your mood!

All color and no shimmer, here's a range for true lipstick lovers. Enjoy long-lasting yet moisturizing color that won't dry out your skin, this full coverage lipstick from gorgeous pinks and coral to rich berries and nudes.

Chic, flattering and fabulous lipstick shades feature an opaque, moisturizing and long-lasting formula. A decadent and reckless amount of pigment boasting a matte yet silky finish. Lipstick that makes you look so good, you can go ahead and be a little bad.

Each Sinner shade is also available in the Saint formulation with 10% pigment for a gorgeous tint of color.

On the lips Pinky Nude feels less like a matte and more like a satin formula lipstick, and it does impart  a slight sheen. Everything about this lipstick is truly lovely.
Pinky Nude is one of those glorious colors that can be dressed up or down, and looks great whether one is wearing heavy or barely-there makeup.
Note the beautiful sheen.

  1. This color looks incredibly elegant. I may need to get one and attempt to pull it off. On my screen it has some rosiness and certainly enough opaqueness!
Have a lovely weekend darling H. Send my hugs to your lovely sons and daughters.

    1. It really is! Yes, I would say that there is some rosiness to it, and the opacity is unmistakable! It's also a good "corrective" color to alter the hue of less-than-ideal lipsticks that are neglected in one's stash! It's definitely worth taking a look at next time you are near a Lipstick Queen counter and there are certainly many other contenders in the Sinner line! I'm not sure why this line is often overlooked, because the colors and textures are so lovely-- and at $22.00 it is a great deal compared to other lipsticks in that price range! You have a lovely weekend as well. I will hug the post-doc chanting beasties for you! xoxox

  2. Wow, 90% pigment? That sounds saturate to boot! I'm not too sure how Pinky Nude would look on me (I don't tend to wear "nude" shades well), but it's for sure lovely in your swatch!

    1. I know that your lips can tend to turn things mauve-- I wonder if you would cool this down in the same way that you did TF Casablanca? This shade may not be ideal for you, but take a look at the other colors from the Sinner line-- the Coral Sinner and Rust Sinner would be AMAZING on you! :-)

  3. well, thank you helen, i was just thinking the other day how much i wanted to try this line and you have pushed me over the edge, albeit in a good way :)

i am nowhere near a place that carries the line, but i am one of those folks that 'nudes' tends to make me look cadaver like. i will definitely need something a little bit darker, more of a brownish red if i can find it.

    i'm off to look! thanks!

    2. i have read fabulous things about the line from pro makeup artists. although i am disabled, i've taken a few classes, put together a pro kit and do some makeovers, locally. mostly, i volunteer my services to other cancer survivors. while i was always a makeup/skin care 'enthusiast', having to deal with my own self with no lashes or brows (chemotherapy ... yuck, yuck, yuck) pushed me into really learning the art, to the best of my ability.

i really want to get my hands on poppy king's products! :D

    3. I really love the line-- I think that they make really lovely products!

I take my hat off to you-- what a wonderful thing that you are doing. What a cathartic and generous thing to do-- to help others who have experienced the same challenges as have you is very touching indeed. My mom is a cancer survivor, and I think that pampering oneself with makeup and skincare can be a very important component in the healing process-- especially when chemo takes its toll. You are truly amazing! xoxo

  5. Oh that is so very pretty! This might be the Lipstick Queen offering that finally reels me in. I was mighty tempted by the sheer blue she has (Sailor, I think?) but didn't get it. This one though...... *happy sigh*

  6. Nudes are really tricky for me, and while in theory Pinky Nude should work on my complexion, I felt like it washed me out a bit. I should give it another try just to make sure, though :-)

    1. I would think that it would be stunning with your complexion! Alter the color a bit by mixing it with another lipstick or gloss-- or use a lipliner to tweak the color a bit to see if you can make it work well for you. Since you already have it, you might as well experiment with it! Have a lovely weekend! :D
