Tom Ford Summer Collection Available for Pre-Order at Neiman Marcus. Are you Tempted?

Naturally I have been stalking the Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Bergdorf Goodman websites, and so far it is only Neiman Marcus who is featuring the whole collection (though each piece is in "Pre-Order" status). Click here to see the collection at Neiman Marcus (Affiliate links).

Are you tempted by anything? Given my love of Tom Ford Beauty, I find myself tempted by everything, but I do want to see the palette in person to determine whether I will use enough of it to justify the purchase. The top two eyeshadow colors seem somewhat reminiscent of the She Wolf Palette-- which is probably my all-time favorite palette-- but I need to determine whether I would wear the navy eyeshadow, and whether or not the blush is too warm for my skin tone.

Are you going to buy sight unseen, or are you waiting to see the collection in person?

  1. In truth, I find this year's summer collection a bit disappointing especially when compared to the stellar collection from last summer. It just seems so woefully inadequate. Perhaps if it had been released with the spring colors for lips and tips--which were fabulous--it would have had more impact. I have Fire Lust from last year and plan on resurrecting it this year, but there's nothing else that has caught my eye. I'd have to see the palette to determine whether or not it really offers anything new. That's the problem (good problem :-) ) with having a lot of TF in my stash. As for the lip shimmers, I already have some really gorgeous gold and silvery white toppers so I don't think I really "need" another one, but we shall see. I'm not pre-ordering, but will wait until product is available to swatch before making any decisions.

    1. Definitely true compared to last summer! That collection was hard to beat, and I had hoped that this summer's collection would be similar-- or at least equally as fabulous! I worry that Fire Lust is too warm for me, but I am tempted. I'm not sure that the lip shimmers are worth getting when I have 2 TF Lip Vinyls that have the same effect. I definitely want to see the collection in person first before handing over my credit card. That said, I have a hard times resisting his collections! :-)

    2. Apropos Fire Lust, I'm NC 15 and when I wear it, it provides enough color that I don't wear any additional blush or bronzer--just Fire Lust blended out over my cheeks. You're a SoCal gal! You know that warm pinky-orange glow that a summer sunset can cast on your skin? That's Fire Lust. If you don't care much for a peach/apricot/orange blush, then you won't like Fire Lust.

    3. Such a gorgeous visual description that you gave-- that definitely makes me want to try it. If there is any way that it will work on my skin tone-- then I think that I will have to have it! I wear Frantic Pink all of the time-- so if Fire Lust doesn't read more orange/peach than that-- then I can pull it off! Thanks, Eileen <3

  2. I am so close to ordering the palette but am trying to be good and hold out for swatches as I wonder if the grey/taupe would look a bit flat x

    1. My gut tells me that you might want to hold out for swatches, or to swatch it in person. I'm not sure that two of the eyeshadow shades aren't too close to 2 from the She Wolf palette-- plus the price is high so I think this needs to be a hit, not a miss! The swatches that I saw on line (I'm assuming the same ones that you saw) make me wonder if the taupe may, in fact, be a touch flat! I certainly hope not! <3

  3. I need swatches. I have made too many mistakes online to take a chance for that much money.

    1. Me too! The collection is far too expensive to do a blind purchase!
