I truly love everything about Illamasqua-- from founder and owner Julian Kynaston's egalitarian approach to beauty, and his belief in the enhancement of what makes each of us distinct and individual (rather than a homogenous version of some unattainable standard of beauty), to the breathtaking color palette upon which Illamasqua consistently embarks. There is something for everyone here-- from those bold expressive souls who comfortably wear teal lipstick to those for whom a demure nude lip is the ultimate in self-expression. I spent a great deal of time talking with Julian, something I will tell you more about very soon, and I was very taken by his wit, intelligence, and his visionary approach to his company. Illamasqua products are of the highest quality making them the obvious choice in the kits of so many of the leading professional makeup artists. The breadth and range of products, with colors from every spectrum of the rainbow, make this line the ultimate treat for artists (whether professional or aspiring).
Illamasqua's Eye Colouring Pencils are long-wearing, boast richly saturated color, and they glide on and blend effortlessly.  Seize, described as a Blue Violet, is an utterly stunning shade. It is one of those colors that is so beautiful and perfectly balanced-- it's not too blue, not too purple, and doesn't have  such a pronounced red undertone as to make eyes look tired. It is one of those shades that tends to be favored by people with green or hazel eyes because of its ability to highlight and accentuate those golden and green shades spectacularly well. That said, I think that Seize will appeal to just about anyone, and with a variety of eye colors. It works beautifully smudged into the lower lash line, or used on the top lid to create a strikingly articulated wing. Whatever your style, Illamasqua Eye Colouring Pencils are most assuredly a valuable asset in your makeup stash. These creamy dreamy pencils are so lovely, in fact, that having one will inevitably lead to wanting all of them!

Create long-lasting definition with the versatile, colour-intense Colouring Pencil. Easily blendable, the creamy texture glides over skin. Use as an eyeliner, define the eye crease, or blend across the entire lid using an Illamasqua Brush to create a variety of looks.

The colour-intense Colouring Pencil is perfect for creating long-lasting definition, the soft creamy texture glides over skin and blends effortlessly.

Highly pigmented, versatile pencil for defining and blending. The smooth, cream texture smooths onto skin to create a lasting, color-true finish.

  1. I really shouldn't buy more pencil liners, but I'm glad to hear this one is indeed long-wearing! Seize is such an interesting shade as well!

    1. Hi Sunny! I know what you mean-- I have amassed so many pencils, but I am really smitten with this one. I agree that the color is quite interesting-- not your run-of-the-mill purple at all! It's definitely worth checking out the Illamasqua pencils when you need a replacement! :D
