Arganesse Hair Treatment Review

My naturally curly hair is always in need of a good treatment that will tame the fly-aways and frizzies- therefore I am always on the lookout for products up to the task. I love post-shampoo smoothing oils that give my hair glossy silky smooth ringlets, and Arganesse Hair Treatment does just that.

Arganesse Hair Treatment smoothes and tames my hair leaving it soft, silky and beautifully glossy. My curls form perfect shiny ringlets that feel smooth and moisturized. The texture is lightweight when applied to the hair, and therefore does not weigh it down or make it look greasy. The mixture of silicone, Vitamin E and Argan Oil beautifully combines treatment with styling ingredients- that aids in smoothing the cuticle as well as moisturizing and treating hair. There is a distinctly woodsy floral scent that is easily detected in the bottle and in the hand, but I do find that it fades rather quickly when applied to my hair.

I tend to apply Arganesse to slightly damp and clean hair because it works wonders as a detangler. However, I also like to use it on dry hair for added gloss, and to tame any fly-aways. I simply pour a small amount into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together to warm up the serum, and then apply it from roots to tips. The end result is always beautiful glossy well-behaved tresses! If my unruly curly hair looks silky smooth and gorgeous-- then just imagine what this will do for those who have straight or wavy hair.

Overall assessment: Works wonders on my unruly hair! It is quite concentrated- so I imagine that it will take me forever to finish this big bottle.

The Organic Pharmacy: Six More Reason to Validate My Deep Love of Their Extraordinary Products!

After having received six emails in just two days asking whether I purchased any new things from The Organic Pharmacy- it occurred to me that I needed to post a picture in advance of my reviews. I am so delighted to see that so many of you are smitten with this extraordinary line- it is a rarity to find a line that is at once so healthy and so effective! My overall first impressions are predictable: everything is amazing! Of course this comes as no surprise to me, or to any of you who have fallen down The Organic Pharmacy rabbit hole. Empties Post Volume XV: October 2013 Edition

October was a very good month for finishing up a lot of full-sized products. Truthfully I'm not quite sure how I managed to finish up so many products this month. I was aware that I was getting close on many of the things featured here, but was caught off guard when I hit the last pump on the two My serums and the Dr. Brandt Glow Overnight Resurfacing Serum. Because those three are housed in air-free opaque pump containers I really never knew what was left in the bottles until they simply stopped dispensing product!

The HYD For Men Shave Cream (reviewed here) is a wonderful creamy and moisturizing shave cream that is just lovely to use. While it belonged to my husband, I did dip into it on more than one occasion because I liked it so much! 

The La Roche-Posay Solution Micellaire Physiologique (reviewed here) is a nice cleansing water, but I would prefer it to be completely fragrance free. I still prefer the Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water-- I have yet to find anything that compares to this lovely product!

DermOrganic Daily Hydrating Conditioner with Argan Oil (reviewed here): This is a wonderfully moisturizing conditioner that works wonders on my naturally curly hair. I will definitely be purchasing a replacement bottle.

Michael O'Rourke Rock Your Hair Leave-In Conditioner Weightless Detangler (reviewed here): Don't let the whimsical packaging fool you- this is a highly effective Leave-In Conditioner. I will definitely be purchasing a replacement bottle!

Painted Earth Blueberry Cranberry Oxygen Scrub (reviewed here): This is a very very nice face scrub, and I liked it so much on my face that I tried it on my body (and what a treat that was!).

Dr. Hauschka SPF 30 Sunscreen Cream for Children and Sensitive Skin: This is a nice sunscreen, but it had become quite old (and no doubt had expired) so after one last spin I emptied the last little bit into the garbage and recycled the tube.

Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge Eau de Parfum sample: I am actually quite fond of this scent. It is far too sharp when I first apply it, but once it settles in it is quite lovely.

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel (reviewed here): This is a highly effective non-foaming cleanser that is gentle while being highly effective. It removes dead skin cells effortlessly and leaves skin so silky smooth. It is unquestionably one of my Holy Grail cleansers!

Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion (reviewed here): Another hit by Mario Badescu!! This is a gentle alcohol-free toner that has become my very favorite toner. On the rare occasions that I am too tired to wash my face- I saturate a cotton ball with this toner and it removes every trace of makeup (not made for eye makeup removal) and leaves my skin feeling wonderful!

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream (reviewed here): This is an excellent moisturizing eye cream that is light, quick absorbing, and highly effective! 

Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 17: This is very moisturizing oil free moisturizer that is great for combination or oily skin types. 

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength Formula (overview here): This two-step at home peel is amazing. I only have a few packets left, and find this system so effective that I plan to buy the biggest box that they make during Sephora's upcoming F&F or VIB sale!

The Organic Pharmacy Collagen Boost Mask (reviewed here): I think at this point that it has become fairly obvious that I am thoroughly obsessed with everything that I have tried from The Organic Pharmacy, and their Collagen Boost Mask is just as amazing as you might imagine! It tightens, lifts and brightens the skin- giving your face an instant radiance and glow. I love this mask, and often use it as a serum!

Radical Skincare Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads: Radical Skincare is utterly amazing (stay tuned- I will be reviewing many products from the line soon). Their Age-Defying Exfoliating pads are highly effective, and brilliantly conceived. One side of the round disk has a rougher texture (but not too rough) to encourage the exfoliation of dead skin cells, and the other side is smooth to whisk away those dead cells and even out the surface of the skin. This is an amazing product.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream: Nice, but I didn't find it particularly unique. 

Armani Maestro Eraser Concealer sample packet: I love this concealer and have a full-size tube. One of these days I will get around to reviewing it. It spreads easily and doesn't cake up or settle into fine lines. The texture is very nice and smooth.

Kiss My Face Cucumber Green Tea Deodorant: Gentle, lovely, effective, and not filled with potentially harmful chemicals. I have replaced this several times, and will continue to buy it!

TATCHA Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil (reviewed here): Absolutely divine! This is an amazing cleansing oil. It is so effective at removing every trace of makeup, and it so thoroughly cleanses the skin  that you really don't need to double cleanse. I love TATCHA products!

My Dynamic Lifting Serum (reviewed here): This is a lovely gel-based lifting serum that absorbs quickly and has a definite lifting and firming effect on the skin. A lovely product from an amazing line!

My Skin Recovery Formula (reviewed here): This is an amazing lightweight skin-brightening serum that targets damaged skin to even out skin-tone, restore radiance, promote firmness, and diminishes the appearance of acne scarring, age or sunspots, and wrinkles. This is a wonderfully hardworking serum filled with all sorts of healthy ingredients! A+

Dr. Brandt Glow Overnight Resurfacing Serum with 2% Active Retinol (reviewed here): This is a very nice nighttime retinol based serum, and despite the high percentage of retinol it never caused my skin to peel. I really like this product, but the next retinol-based product that I plan to try is prescription Retin-A because I want to experience the difference between the over-the-counter and prescription versions.

By Request: Lola's Secret Luxury Face Oils Stash Revealed!

When wefadetogray said, "Continuing with the theme of beauty products fetishism, I was wondering if you can take some pictures of your whole face oils collection for our voyeurism. I am going to enjoy them vicariously"- it was clearly incumbent upon me to deliver.

Those of us, as you all know, who are fanatical about face oils find it difficult to have just one or two. I realize that I have passed in number anything even remotely reasonable, but you may rest assured that I really do use all of them. I generally choose based upon need and desire, but sometimes I simply grab the one that is the easiest to get to. You would think given the number of face oils in my possession that I would have no desire to add more to my collection, and while a reasonable assumption for a reasonable person-- it simply isn't true for me. I am on the continual hunt to see what new blends hit the market, and frankly try as many as I can so that I can help you weed through the vast number of beauty oils on the market today.

While the Mario Badescu Peptide Renewal Serum was, in large part, formulated to target very dry and mature skin, and I have combination skin that neither leans dry nor mature- I found an instant friend in this serum! I find that it deeply hydrates, smooths and lifts the skin on my face and décolleté. I do have some sun damage on my décolleté that appears infinitely less damaged since I began slathering this serum on the damaged area. Overall I find that my skin is more radiant, firm, even-toned, and that it boasts a greater clarity.  The serum feels wonderful, silky smooth and comforting on the skin, and it sinks in quickly and gets right to work. This lovely serum will most definitely be a staple to get me though the colder winter months when my skin needs added hydration and moisture! I have even employed rather unorthodox means of using this serum by adding a couple of drops to my foundation or tinted moisturizer, and the result is even more luminous healthy skin. This serum is just amazing!

It is also filled with anti-oxidants that work hard to scavenge free-radicals that damage and age the skin. Perhaps one of the greatest surprises is that this serum does what so many other serums only claim to do, and it does so at a fraction of the price.

Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel for the Face- Review

I love to exfoliate my skin, and have done so as far back as I can remember. While I like a good physical exfoliant with all of the scrubby bits to whisk away dead skin cells, I also really love the type that does all of the work for me without any of the abrasion. Therefore when Exfoliaré sent me their Exfoliatimg Gel I was intrigued and eager to try it.

Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel Face is an at-home spa experience for the woman who is always 'on the go'! It's a quick and easy alternative to chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Plus, it's gentle even on the most sensitive skin! Exfoliaré Face reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles, removes dull and rough patches, allows you to apply makeup to a smoother surface and reduces signs of aging.

First I have to say to all of the at-home exfoliating naysayers who don't like the mess often associated with the application of such products that this one is easy-breezy to use. Additionally, the pump dispenser assures easy mess-free application, and the perfect amount is dispensed with each depression of the pump.

What sets Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel for the Face apart from so many other exfoliating products is the fact that it leaves the skin both exfoliated and moisturized thanks to the inclusion of ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and Orange Oil. Therefore any potentially drying effects associated with exfoliation or peeling are offset by these moisturizing agents.

I find Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel to be effective as an exfoliant- yet it remains gentle enough that I experienced no adverse reactions whatsoever. That said, I patch tested it on my arm first, and then on a small part of my face to make sure that my skin was neither reactive, nor allergic. I have learned the hard way that it is a very wise practice to patch test before committing!

After washing and drying your face you apply 2-3 pumps to your face. I have a small face so 1-2 pumps is sufficient for me. Then you lightly massage it in an upward circular motion for about 30 seconds. You will be astounded when you see all of your dead skin cells mixed with the gel pilling up! It is at this point that you rinse it off with lukewarm water and gently dry your skin. The result is fresh glowing ridiculously soft and supple skin. One of the biggest surprises is that my skin feels balanced and moisturized- rather than stripped and dry. I can't say enough good things about the way that Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel makes my skin look and feel. I like to use this about once a week, and really see the difference when I am consistent. I am also amazed by the affordable price point! As an added benefit, Exfoliaré Exfoliating Gel is paraben free!

Overall assessment: A fantastic product that effectively removes dead skin while leaving your skin hydrated!
