I can't wait to hear your review of two trios. By the way what is inside two leftmost boxes? ;-)

    1. Hello, my darling friend!!!!!! I went a little crazy at the Tom Ford counter, and did enough damage that I didn't even let myself look at any other counters! The two little boxes on the far left are samples that they made me of two different shades of their foundation. I wanted to try it for a while before committing to it since it is pricey! I am super happy with my purchases, but I need to photograph everything so that I can start using these pretties!!!!!

    2. Hi :-**
I love how pretty those look all together. You must be super excited!
I was so crazy when I received my TF order a few weeks ago. I simply love this brand! <3

    3. I am very excited!!! I was slow to warm up to the line, but once I let myself really try it it became a serious love affair! I can just imagine how excited you were when you received that beautiful order a few weeks ago! I need to hurry up and photograph everything so that I can use everything!!!!!! <3

    5. Thanks!! I can't wait to start playing with everything. I had to make myself leave the store quickly because I wanted Orchid Haze so badly-- it is definitely on my list, but I just couldn't get myself to spend the extra money given how much I had already indulged. My beloved SA, Michelle, told me not to worry-- that I could get it anytime! I adore her-- she is honest, and knows how to get my to apply the brakes on added unnecessary spending. Of course I will now obsess about it until I get it!! Your gorgeous review and swatches certainly didn't help curb my obsession either! :-)

  2. My name is Eileen and I am a Tom Ford addict! LOL! Does that tell you what I think of your wonderful haul?

Lola, you weren't the only one to be slow to embrace this line. When it was first launched, a lot of nay-sayers considered the eponymous line to be nothing more than the product of an over-developed ego. Although TF had a very particular high-end customer in mind, for whatever reason, that image was not readily apparent to many of the bloggers who first reviewed his products and his price points sent many of those ladies into shock. For many of them, it was all about the price and not about the actual product. It wasn't until the women who gravitate towards luxury brands began singing his praises that his cosmetics took off in a big way. Since then, TF has been steadily upping his game, improving upon his formulations, and bringing product innovation to the table--we've even managed to get over the sticker shock :-) In just a few years, his line has now become synonymous with exclusivity, luxury, and bold sophistication.

I noticed you bought Pink Dusk. It's one of my favorites. I've been wearing it with She Wolf and In the Pink. It's a lovely mid-toned shade that is so easy to wear. By the way, have you seen Guerlain's new eye pencil in Amber Silver? It's beautiful when worn beneath the lower lashes with She Wolf. It brings sparkle to the eyes. Taupe lovers: It's also beautiful when blended out over the lid as an eyeshadow.

I see you bought some TF brushes. I'm a bonafide brush-a-holic and have enough beautiful Japanese brushes to last several lifetimes. TF's brushes are amongst some of my very favorites and I have duplicates of several of them. I'll leave that rave, though, for another day.

    1. Hi Eileen! I'm in the TF Addict club with you! LEt me know where our weekly meetings will be located. Perhaps they should be at the TF counter at NM in BH! LOL!!

One of the things that caused me to warm up so slowly was my fear that it was going to be a reflection of the EL Company rather than Tom Ford. I had a hard time wrapping my head around paying über luxury designer prices for something under the EL umbrella. So I sat at the sidelines for quite a while- periodically swatching from the line and ultimately waiting for the line to disprove my suspicions. Little by little I found products that defied my expectations that it was just MAC in fancy packaging. First I was drawn in by the blushes, and before I knew it Frantic Pink was in my possession-- then Wicked. Then the Summer collection won my heart, and then before I knew it my feelings about the line had blossomed into a full-blown obsession. I had long loved his designs, and in fact have two pair of his glasses (and I covet them), and of course I have the utmost respect for his ability to resurrect Gucci from what was then its stale status quo. I also loved his filmic debut- A Single Man. Therefore, I felt that the makeup line needed to line up to his other extraordinary achievements-- and I feared that it wouldn't. Now I can happily say that I love everything that I have purchased, and definitely believe that his makeup line is amazing.I definitely agree with you that he is upping his game-- and in fact the TF products that didn't really impress me before seem to have been markedly improved. Everything that I have is of excellent luxury quality, and that certainly makes the luxury prices far less painful. It seems rather demented to me that I no longer flinch at the idea of spending $49.00 on a lipstick-LOL! I agree with your assessment that his line now embodies exclusivity, luxury, and bold sophistication.

Yes, I bought Pink Dusk-- it is just so gorgeous, understated, and sophisticated--I can definitely see why it has been one of your favorites. I will have to wear it with In the Pink and She Wolf as well-- when I bought it-- that I had been my thought as well. I actually saw Gaia's review and swatches of Guerlain Amber Silver and have been lusting after it ever since. I talked myself out of it because I have so many eye pencils, but now that you have told me that it is gorgeous with She Wolf- I am sold! I will pick it up this week. I am a huge sucker for glorious taupes-- so I will definitely need to add it to my collection-- thanks so much for the raving review!

Like you, I am also a bonafide brush-a-holic-- with a particular penchant for Japanese brushes. I have amassed so many Hakuhodo brushes that I should probably have my head examined. That the TF brushes were made in Japan, and according to my SA they are made by Hakuhodo, I was sold. Of course actually touching and playing with them at the counter was what ultimately sold me. I had to exercise great restraint limiting my selection to three! I can completely understand why you have duplicates of several of them (I have done that with a couple of my Hakuhodos). Such a lovely addiction, albeit an expensive one! Have a lovely weekend, Eileen! Thank you for your lovely comment-- I am always thrilled to see what you have to say! <3

  3. I can't wait to see what you got. I'm seriously thinking of Orchid Haze so I want to see what you ended up with for eyes.

    1. I will open the boxes and post a photo of everything today or tomorrow. I didn't buy Orchid Haze, but I almost did. Michelle reminded me that I could always pick it up later-- though I repeatedly swatched it-- I almost caved, but I had already spent so much! If it was LE-- I definitely would have thrown caution to the wind. The quality is extraordinary, and IMHO it is much smoother and silkier than his other quads. It doesn't have any of the glitter shades-- so it's a satin finish-lovers dream. I was utterly amazed by the quality of every shade in the quad: rich pigmentation and buttery smooth! I bought both of the LE trios- She Wolf and In the Pink. :-)

  4. It all looks so amazing. I ordered from Neimans' too, and I also chose the purple leopard bag :-) I love it! I didn't spend the $500 to get the Rebecca Minkoff bag, I really had to control myself, but I went crazy, for me, and got TF Orchid Haze and Seductive Rose eye palettes. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. The best eye palettes of the season, IMO.

    1. HI Monica!! Yay for you! Isn't the purple leopard bag super cute?! Buying anything at the TF counter constitutes going crazy, IMO!!! I just went especially nuts!! You bought two GORGEOUS quads. I almost bought Orchid Haze, but had already spent way too much-- so it's on the top of my list for my next TF purchase. It is so silky smooth and beautifully pigmented-- I am thoroughly impressed by it! I'm so happy that you are thrilled with your purchases!!!!!!!! Enjoy them!
