Tom Ford Summer Collection 2013: Illuminating Cheek Color in Blush Guilt (LE) Review & Swatches

Purchased by me. Affiliate Link.

The Tom Ford Summer 2013 Collection is all about an ethereal glow, and Blush Guilt Illuminating Cheek Color is no exception. The intention is to impart a natural and radiant glow, and it certainly achieved this goal, and does so with a freshness and delicate beauty that is captivating! Blush Guilt is a gorgeous and refined pale pink shimmer. I consider it to be more of an illuminator than a cheek product, but it will also layer beautifully with your blush to add dimension, luminescence, and staggering beauty.
In the tube it reads as a baby pink, but once swatched on the skin it provides more sheen than pigment. That said, it is stunningly gorgeous, and this point simply cannot be adequately underscored.
As you can see, this is a solid cream stick illuminator that is housed in the same large tube as the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick. It will undoubtedly bring NARS The Multiple multi-purpose sticks to mind, but trust me when I say that Tom Ford Illuminating Cheek Color is far more luxurious and refined.
Capturing the natural, warm tones the skin reflects at dusk, the Tom Ford Illuminating Cheek Color sculpts and defines cheek bones with a radiant glow.

Pearls enhance the formula, giving the cheeks gorgeous luster, added definition, structure, and illumination.

Apply a few strikes of the stick onto cheeks and blend into skin for a flawless radiant finish. Pair with Tom Ford bronzing powder for a sensuous, sun-bronzed effect.
This is definitely a luxury splurge at the price point, but if you are a Tom Ford fan and can justify the expense you will likely find yourself as thrilled as I am.
The heavenly ethereal glow is nothing short of breathtaking.
While these appear to be sold out online, I would call the retailers listed below if you are on the hunt- because there are a few left out there in some of the physical store locations.

Overall assessment: This is a true thing of beauty, and I can tell you right now that I will resort to scraping the very last drop out of the tube! A+

    1. Hi Jamilla! Thanks for stopping by, and for leaving a comment! You will LOVE this! I only purchased this and the Pink Lust Lip Lacquer- and I am completely obsessed with both! I am actually considering a backup for Pink Lust before it is gone. I wore these two together along with Wicked blush, and I was basically squealing with joy! :)

  3. I bought both Blush Guilt and Bronzed Amber. I blame Charlestongirl for enabling me, but truth be told, when I saw how beautifully the two colors coordinated, I was a total goner. Blush Guilt swept in the classic "C" looks gorgeous on the browbones and cheekbones. Bronzed Amber swept just under the cheekbones and lightly blended into Blush Guilt lifts the face and brings emphasis to the eyes--something I very much appreciate at my age. LOL And, of course, they can be used in any of the ways a highlighter or bronzer is traditionally used.

It's inevitable that these be compared to NARS because of the stick presentation, but I believe that is where the similarity ends. The illuminating sticks by TF are far superior in formulation, texture, and finish. Whereas NARS sticks tend to look either sparkly or frosty, TF's sticks create a more subtle and natural gleam. I really hope we'll see more of these illuminating sticks in his future collections. The way they glide on and blend and then meld with the complexion is simply superlative. Wouldn't a TF stick version of Wicked be awesome? :-)

    1. I blame Charlestongirl as well!! I was going to pass on the entire collection until she posted her review and swatches!! Now I'm just a total goner as well. Your assessment is spot on- these illuminating sticks are sublime! It would be so nice if these were added to the permanent collection. You are so right- there is NO comparison between these beauties and the NARS sticks-- by comparison they are unrefined glitter-bombs, whereas TF delivers the most refined grown-up sheen. PURE HEAVEN! A TF stick version of Wicked would be HEAVENLY-- I want one now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually have been using Blush Guilt in conjunction with Wicked (and I am betting that you have been as well), and the combination is utterly divine! Also- you have me seriously considering getting a backup of Pink Lust because I am so in love with it. :-)

  4. I'm sure I must be missing something as I got this and really don't rate it but everyone else seems to love it :(
I'll have to keep trying it and hope something magical happens ;) xx

    1. I doubt that you missed a thing- I don't think that everyone is going to love this- I was rather surprised that I did since I have approached TF Beauty in a guarded way. I am very pleased with this and the Pink Lust Lip Lacquer from the collection. I had wondered about the cream eyeshadows, but the colors don't really suit me, and the one that I thought that I could pull off- you found patchy- so I was able to save some money there!! <3

  5. This is stunning but I'd be really worried about it settling in my pores. I love colors like this but I'm worried about this.

    1. It is a real beauty- I actually haven't found that it settled into my pores. It might be worth trying at the counter to see if you have the same reaction. I think that there are still a few of them out there in the physical store locations, but it is a lot to spend if you aren't sure! <3

    2. The only store locally with Tom Ford only carries the lipsticks. What a waste of space.

    3. Yeah I have noticed that a lot of retailers around here only have the lipsticks and nail polishes! If they are going to license them to carry part of the line- they really should let them carry the whole line! Last time I checked only Neiman Marcus in BH had the full line, and Saks only had the lipsticks and nail polishes. Even Bloomingdale's has the lipsticks and nail polishes around here! Pretty frustrating!

  6. Hi Helen :)
Thank you for your review & gorgeous swatches. As soon as I read your post I got up & went to whip mine out of the box & have been loving it! Definitely not returning it now. I'm really happy with this illuminator & the gloss. Now it's got me excited to see what Tom Ford Beauty will have in store for us come this Fall...on second thought maybe not considering how pricey it is! Lol
I'm trying to save my pennies for Burberry's Fall collection ;)

    1. Hi Naomi! <3

You are so welcome!!!! I wanted to get it up quickly so that you could decide whether you wanted to keep or return it before trying it. I'm so glad that you are happy with it! I would have been super bummed if you had tried it and kept it based upon my review and had a "meh" reaction to it! I'm really happy with the Illuminator and the gloss as well! I'm a touch afraid about the things to come from the Armani, Burberry and TF Fall Collections-- I suspect that I will have to save lots and lots of pennies for all three! Hopefully I don't like any of it-- though I doubt that will be the case!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
