Fishy Friday

This is Henry, a stunning 3 foot long Koi that I have befriended. I greet him each day that I am at work, and I pass him whenever I walk from my car to my office (and back again). When we first met, he proved to be quite a friendly fish and would swim up to me when he saw me. Henry is quite remarkable- if I sit down on the bench near his pond he, the other fish, and their 3 duck friends opt to hang out with me. For some time now Henry has responded to my voice- if I call his name he will appear and swim over to greet me from the far reaches of his rather sizable pond. I love this fish!

  3. That is so sweet! It's things similar to this that give me such pleasure in life. I've got an owl in my neighborhood, and each time it hoots, it makes me happy:-)

    1. I completely agree with you, Lulubelle. These types of things give me such great pleasure as well! I actually park quite a long distance from my office just so that I can greet Henry and the ducks twice a day! How lucky you are to have an owl in your neighborhood-- that would make me spectacularly happy!!! :-)

  4. He is so beautiful. He reminds me of the koi they have in the rooftop garden in my neighbouring city, except those guys aren't too friendly and don't rush up to greet people unless they have food!

    1. He is a real beauty. You are lucky that you can visit some beautiful Koi as well! It's funny, I have often thought to buy some food for Henry, but I was assured by facilities management that Henry and his friends are fed and taken care of-- so I decided not to interfere. He's just a genuinely friendly fish. It blows my mind that he swims over to me very fast when he hears me call to him-- it makes my heart skip a beat every single time! :-)
