Lolapalooza Extravaganza: Pure Unmitigated Excess!

I realize that I went a little crazy with these purchases, but I was one very lucky girl because nearly all of these products were paid for with gift cards that I had been saving for the things that I really wanted.
You knew that there was no escaping the purchase of lip products- given my proclivities- it is simply a byproduct of my lip product fetish!
Are any of your recent purchases taking your breath away? Do tell!

  1. I see such lovely things, Helen!! I would totally hold that Chanel highlighter like Gollum and never use it. It is gorgeous.

    1. Thanks, Bellyhead! I'm glad that you like my voices! I had been going back and forth about that gorgeous Chanel highlighter, but they had a pile left at Macys- and I had a gift card-- why buy something practical when something so pretty begged me to bring it home! :D

    2. I know, I haven't swatched it because I don't want to touch it!!! LOL!

    3. This is literally where all my GCs go to: makeup. I'm thinking new electric toothbrush, or makeup? Dental Hygiene for life, or makeup? MAKEUP!

    4. Mine too!!!! What's frightening is the fact that I really don't even consider that GC could be used for such pragmatic things!!!

  2. I'm dying to know your thoughts on the Armani "Medusa" (green-themed) palette. The TF blush will tempt me, of course, but they won't release the line to anyone in Canada, so I'll have to imagine that I can try it. And an Hourglass lipstick is always a good thing.

    1. Hi Kate! The Medusa palette is so stunning. I swatched it with great vigor at the counter and was struck by how pigmented and creamy it was. I have to photograph mine soon because I am dying to try it on my eyes!! Yet again, it is simply ridiculous that TF isn't in Canada-- you would think that they would have the smarts to realize that people buy luxury makeup in Canada! It's just so illogical! I bought it in Frantic Pink, and having been wearing it every single day since I purchased it! I am now. The price is pretty ridiculous though! I love Hourglass products, and just picked up their Illusion Tinted Moisturizer- and am delighted so far.

No recent purchases for me, but I am saving up my pennies to buy some Rouge Bunny Rouge! :D

    1. Hi Toby!

I had decided not to get it, but then when I saw that Macy's still had them in stock I decided that it was a worthy way to use my gift card!

Good for you! RBR is so worthy of foregoing other purchases! It is really one of my very favorite lines! Have a lovely weekend! :D

  4. I want to come play at your house!!!!! Can't wait to see your pics & reviews on these. Especially the gray Armani - is that Maestro? The Chanel highlighter is gorgeous! Bellyhead's comment abt holding it like Gollum made me laugh!

    1. <3!! I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of these beauties!! Believe it or not, I haven't dipped into most of them yet! I will have to start taking pictures of everything so that I can actually start using all of these pretty babies! Those are two of the four new limited edition Armani Eyes to Kill Quad Shimmers in Medusa No. 09 (Green) and Mystery No. 11 ((Taupey gray). The Chanel Highlighter is something that I am coveting because it is so gorgeous-- I'm tempted to turn it into my screen saver to preserve it forever (LOL) before I destroy that gorgeous design! I know, Bellyhead's comment is AWESOME!

    1. Thanks, sweetie! I am really liking Frantic Pink a great deal! I love the subtle shimmer. I prefer the smooth and creamy texture of Burberry blushes, but the TF glow is pretty hard to beat because it is subtle and refined- rather than garish like a disco ball! I have been reaching for it every single day since I purchased it-- so I can see how you hit the pan on yours! I imagine that I will do the same! xoxox

  7. I am curious as to what your opinion is towards the Kiss Kiss Gloss. I saw that the other day and was tempted, but decided not to buy it.

    1. Hi Grace! I just started wearing it and so far I really like it a lot. I had been swatching them every single time that I was at a counter or at Sephora, and finally broke down and bought one. I hadn't ever tried them on my lips before (because I avoid putting used testers on my lips), but was pleasantly surprised by how nice the formula is. If you can sway one of the lovely SA at Sephora to open a fresh tester- then I would highly recommend trying it to see if you like it. After I wear mine for a little longer I will review it, and hopefully that will help you decide whether it is for you. :D

    1. It would seem as though gift cards are your only recourse for your moratorium on beauty spending!! Fingers crossed that gift cards appear before you! I have only tried out a few of these beauties, and need to photograph the rest of them-- but will start posting reviews before too long. So far,so good though!
